“Cremation uses fossil fuels and burial uses a lot of land and has a carbon footprint,” said Spade. “For a lot of folks being turned into soil that can be turned to grow into a garden or tree is pretty impactful.”

This exact thing from my canadian perspective played out as well.
A couple years before the plandemic we, here in BC, had a massive change to our medical system where users no longer paid monthly premiums. Medical was free for those in poverty but anyone with a fair wage paid premiums of about $140 a month or a family amount a little over that. The change came with a slow slide in accessabilty of care and increased wait times. People got used to it easily and were pleased at having no charges. On one hand, I understand, as the premiums were tied to doing ones taxes and I had a friend who passed from infection as he hadn't done taxes in years and had no medical. Of course, he could have gotten treatment but the bills would have been handed to him. They aren't as high as the US but he lived very marginally by collecting salal, mushroom, forest products in season.
So, my point of adding this all was that, though we had no say, we gave up our own "stakeholder" position for something "free" and suddenly found ourselves collectively at the mercy of a failing and corrupt medical system. Many people here don't have family doctors and all but emergency is handled virtually. It's a sham of a system that only a few years ago was a great balance of affordable and efficient. I was suspicious when they dropped the premium system as nothing is truly free but when the plandemic rolled out, I knew why. They couldn't have done it with people demanding better because they paid for it.
Didn't mean to highjack your post, Cranky. Just it reminded me of this... that if we are not stakeholders we have everything to lose. The WEF model of stakeholder capitalism works for them, not us, once everything has been taken where we have input.

Following a three-year review, the Army has scrapped plans to use the same physical fitness test for all soldiers, choosing instead to have some reduced standards to allow women and older soldiers to pass, the service announced Wednesday.
The decision follows a RAND-led study that found men were more easily passing the new, more difficult Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT) compared to women and older soldiers, who were “failing at noticeably higher rates.” That six-event test developed in 2019 was an expansion from the three events — pushups, situps and a run — soldiers had done prior.
"With sorrow I inform you that the Pope Emeritus, Benedict XVI, passed away today at 9:34 in the Ecclesiae Monastery in the Vatican. Further information will be provided as soon as possible," said the Director of the Holy See press office Matteo Bruni's statement.
The Vatican press office has said that Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI's body will lie in state in St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican from Monday through Wednesday for the faithful to pay their respects.
His funeral is scheduled for Thursday at 9:30 a.m. local time in St. Peter's Square on the parvis of St. Peter's Basilica and will be presided over by Pope Francis, the Vatican press office said. Following the funeral mass, his coffin will be taken to the Vatican Grottoes, located below St. Peter's Basilica, for burial.
If ever there was a moment that embodied the surreal novelty created by the first papal resignation in 600 years, it came on the morning of March 23, 2013: Newly elected Pope Francis had traveled to the papal summer retreat south of Rome and was greeted on the helipad by the previous pope, Benedict XVI, who had moved there three weeks earlier.
Two men in white -- a reigning pope and a retired one -- each showing the other the deference owed to a pontiff and discussing the future of the Catholic Church as it passed from one papacy to the next.
But for some, that moment on the helipad of Castel Gandolfo encapsulated everything that was wrong with Benedict’s surprise resignation and the risks it posed to the very unity of the Catholic Church and the institution of the papacy.

I just realized that in the context my comment can be taken incorrectly. At the event I saw she was wearing an N95 style mask, but even from the video I saw it seemed apparent that it's wasn't her. I have no idea if it was merely some kind of prank or what.
Ah, surprisingly a search did pull it up.
