Just do what politicians do and skim off the top.

Funny how some of them make about 100k a yr, yet have 100s of millions...

Surely its all kosher.

There was a lady in Kentucky talking about how after their disaster millions and millions were sent, but nobody has been helped or seen a single cent…

I know you're smplace 'round Michigan. Just an observ from me n the wife.
Fish dinners(2) $32 US
Steakhouse (2) $45-50 + drinks, dessert, tips=$60-70 US
Lrg Pizza, Buddies- 8 slices $24

Chinese is still the cheapest to get.
1 order combo Almond Chicken $ 12 + tips....and prob 2-3 whole chickens for extra meals.

These are going out prices can't do that much of it but it shows increase.

Bread $2+, milk $3-4 gall...overall, the wife indicates an aprox 40% raise across the board.

Stock? Tons of food on shelf's, meats, fish, poultry, prepared meals...but shelves can be bare of slow or no selling items not reordered.

Some places here have taken expensive items off of the menu like fish and seafood, which is wild because we have a huge Catholic population that REALLY wants Friday Fish Fry!!!

Oh yeah...we've seen that. Menus slashed for just pop items, most sold. If anything...with all our options to take out, eat in, preorder...it's kinda good menus and store items have been trimmed.

Aldis sells lawn furniture, Kroger's canes and Christmas trees etc...now if they get rid of all the "center aisle" home improvement stuff...do you think they'd have more food on shelves? I don't know....

I've found that the Costco whole rotisserie chickens are great to bring home and shred. I typically get about 6 lbs of chicken meat, from two chickens. I use the meat for enchiladas, tacos, and chicken salad. I make chicken broth, for soup, with the bones and leftover scraps.

This is Detroit. Heavy fish fry Fridays in town. Lots of Polish!

*Update: After posting this a.m., I went to the farm market. 50 lbs of potatoes was $23.99-marked down to $18.99.

Mich potatoes 10 lbs for $2.99. Red cabbage $.89 each. To me sounds ok. For others?

But the real question is:
When is this going to end??

I used to put $40 of gas in my car every other day. Now it's $30. Gasoline companies (or whatever they're called) see Republicans taking control in 2 weeks, and stopping Biden's madness.

I still hear liberals say they dont mind paying more if it help's others. They literally dont care...

Even if they were on the streets they would still defend , they are so weird

lol, I see many kids who think there where no poor beforehand and everyone lived the privileged lives of gods so it'll be interesting to watch them learn both the word no and the meaning of delayed gratification

I'm sure that'll be right up to the moment it impacts them which they believe will never come as they'll be saved first by the state,,

My husband and I live on SSDI and don't qualify for the full amount.

Our rent is about to go up, again.

We can't afford a car, we walk everywhere, so gas prices haven't been affecting us.

We've been eating soup and Tuna Helper for several years now, along with inexpensive staples.

We recently had to ration our hamburger to six portions instead of five.

We're thrilled we can still afford milk, juice and eggs.

Watching people complain about not being able to order Doordash, eat out at resturants or afford steak on this thread is just amazing to me.

Seriously?

Talk about lucky.

I agree - people should be happy that they are alive. I personally live off of rice, pasta, chicken and cheap ground beef. I also hunt around for cheap prices. No way I'm going to shop at my local grocery store if they have chicken thighs for 5 bucks a pound. I'll head to a market or super walmart if I have to.

Bet most have huge monthly phone bills too - too cheap to get a $30 turkey to feed your family, but willing to spend 49 a month for that new phone and 80 more for the monthly plan. When you are using Visible mobile with their free phone and have a 1997 corolla, then you can complain. Probably run their AC 24/7 too.

The disconnect is amazing isn't it?

My Gophone costs $35 a month and my husbands phone was able to qualify for the Government Plan.

If it weren't for these "socialist" perks, we'd be homeless with mental illnesses and starving on the streets.

But you see, "socialism bad".

It amazes me how so many with so much complain about not being able to afford luxuries when so many of us are scraping by and making ends meet with good old fashioned budgeting, simplicity, resilience and going without perks.

I rarely talk about my financial situation, but there are times when it's appropriate to remind people how much they take for granted.
