With Germany or without Germany ....
BREAKING: Polish PM @MorawieckiM : “Poland won’t passively watch Ukraine bleed to death. If Germany won’t agree on sending Leopards, we will build a "smaller coalition" of countries ready to donate some of their modern tanks to Ukraine.”
“Every Pole is an expert on understanding what fighting for freedom, democracy and existential survival means. This is the case since, in our part of the world, the notion of independence means freedom from Russia.”
From the Polish perspective, the best way to prevent escalation is to provide Ukraine with the means to defeat Russian aggression. Unlike the rather restrained language of the US administration, the Polish government is quite clear in stating: “Imperialism must be stopped and defeated. Otherwise, it will be a constant threat to the free world.”
A new phase of the conflict is beginning. For Poland, it is crucial that Ukraine defeats Russian aggression. Otherwise the security of Europe as a whole, and Poland in particular, would be at risk. Why Poland is urging NATO allies to send more military aid to Ukraine
The US is gradually changing its policy, and has signalled that it will permit Ukrainian drone attacks inside Russian territory. It also decided to provide Patriot systems to Ukraine, according to announcements in late December 2022. The training period to operate these systems has been reduced to three months.
* Russian forces continued limited counterattacks to regain lost positions along the Svatove-Kreminna line on January 22. Russian sources claimed that Ukrainian forces struck an industrial facility in Kadiivka, Luhansk Oblast with HIMARS rockets.
* Russian forces continued offensive operations in the Bakhmut and the Donetsk City-Avdiivka areas.
* Russian sources claimed on January 22 that Russian forces continued offensive operations in two directions in Zaporizhia Oblast, with their main efforts focusing on Hulyaipole and Orikhiv. Head of the Ukrainian Joint Press Center of the Tavrisk Direction Defense Forces Yevhen Yerin stated on January 22 that Russian forces are not conducting large-scale operations in the Zaporizhia direction.
* Ukrainian Main Military Intelligence Directorate (GUR) Representative Andriy Yusov stated that there is currently no threat of a Russian offensive operation from Belarus and that the GUR has not observed a grouping and readiness of Russian forces in Belarus that would allow for such an operation.

If Germany has truly learned from its history, it will send tanks to defend Ukraine

If they truly did learn from their history, they would want nothing to do with this war.

Because it worked out so well the last time they sent tanks over that way?
Jesus, that's some bizarre propaganda.
If they truly did learn from their history, they would want nothing to do with this war.

From The Guardian link sent by Kenzo:
"The lesson to learn from that history is not that German tanks should never be used against Russia, whatever the Kremlin does, but that they should be used to protect Ukrainians, who were among the greatest victims of both Hitler and Stalin...."
I am a German woman and I fully agree with the above cited quote from The Guardian.
It is true, the German government does hesitate to long.
Germany itself has by the moment 200 leopards. Its clear, we can't give them all at once to Ukraine.
But there are many leopards in several European countries.
Today in Bruxelles they are working on an agreement to gather leopards from the countries which are willing to give from their leopards to Ukraine.
It is a pity, Greece and Turkey which every one owns 500 leopards, refuse to give any of them to Ukraine.

It's ironic that a former NAZI state is once again being steered towards war (lebensraum 2?) in this region. By the very state that the NAZI's openly admired and also quite openly used as a model for their own war mongering and genocide (the US).

You clearly dont know what Lebensraum is/was... since Germany giving weapon aid to a country that needs it isnt even in the same ball park of Lebensraum.
it seems history really is lost on you unfortunately.

...and you clearly don't understand irony. Nor the meaning of terms such as "steered towards".
Quite clearly this episode is about US corporations gaining control of Russia's natural resources (while also undermining the German economy). This is likely to backfire and has caused a huge backlash already that people are ignoring. If BRICS+ really get's going (and their is interest from places like the SAUDIs, Indonesia and various emerging economies) it will control the majority of such resources (particularly oil) and be traded in their own (non fiat) currency. Bye bye US sanctions in any meaningful sense (they already are laughed at by some), bye bye US hegemony if and when this happens. This could plausibly happen by the end of this decade.
