When did it become wrong to defend your property from those who believe that what's yours is, in some reality, theirs?

I'm not risking the safety of my family, period. Come unwanted into my home, and you're very likely to leave feet first.

She's a bleeding heart who doesn't understand firearm culture and who operates on the premise that you have no right to sovereignty in your own home.

It absolutely is "predatory behavior"!
How do you figure it is not?
Anything, person or animal, that is intelligent enough to attack/assault, at any sign or advantage of weakness? Is intelligent enough to be classified as a predator and be held accountable as such.

Ticks are parasitic. Wolves are predators. Wolves will attack and eat you. A lot of things in "nature" will, and they have ticks. But, ...
you don't kill a wolf when it attacks you, because it has ticks.

You have weird logic and reasoning.

Who me ? Weird ? LoL !!

Will try to present my idea a bit differently, to look for common-ground.

From your post : a tick is a parasite : it doesn't kill the host. It may diminish the host's life, somewhat.
From my post : the penguin stealing nesting rocks from his neighbor is parasitic, but does not threaten the other's life.

From your post : a wolf is a predator : it kills it's victim.
But you are right : sometimes a thief, or rapist can be called a predator.

My "weird logic and reasoning" has me thinking that a parasite is less harmful than a predator, to put it simply.

Stealing a pair of kicks from a store, or breaking the windows of the phone-company,
because one has a grudge against them : are very minor offences to me.

A monk lived in a simple shack, with nothing but a cup, a bowl, and the clothes on his back.
One day he returned to find a thief in his humble demeure, with the monk's cup and bowl in hand.
He questioned the thief, to find that he had travelled far from his city.
The monk felt bad that the thief had travelled so far, and that he had so little to offer him.
So the monk gave the thief his clothes.
Later that night, the monk was sitting naked outside, still contemplating the encounter.
" That poor man. He has so little. I wish I could offer him this beautiful moon."

Which is it? Are you defending your property or your family's safety? When using deadly force, the distinction matters.

I'm with you!
Bet if we tried to rob them, that would be different!

We need him as the next President. He is the best Governor that we have ever had. If you've noticed, you don't hear much talk from Democrats. Why? Because Reps, and Dems actually mostly get along in this state. Why? because of this Governor.

Honestly, my opinion, as it's probably well known by now is screw the federal government. DeSantis should stick to being the governor Floridians want and focus on them, so hopefully when the big daddy gov collapses he can keep Floridians Floridians.

Well, I am against summary judgement and execution of unarmed thieves by self-appointed "neighborhood watch". If they're threatening your, or anyone else's, life, shoot 'em.

There is no such distinction. Anyone willing to steal my property is willing to harm me. To assume otherwise places the innocent in an disadvantage when life is likely on the line. Only a criminal would want what you want.

It can't be both??

Someone comes into my home, without my consent, I'm going to assume that he, or she, or they, may have nefarious intent.

I'm, also, going to assume that they mean me harm.

If, in the event of a SHTF event, if they knock and ask for help, they're going to get as much help as I can give. I'm nice that way...

If they don't knock, and ask, and attempt--notice I said attempt--to take they're going to wish they hadn't. I'm nice that way, too.

Cowards?

Some, sure. Others? Not so much.

Right now, where I live there have been a couple of attempts with varying degrees of success at home invasions...thankfully, no one's been hurt yet, and I hope that that continues.

Will they leave if they hear the ratcheting sound of a shotgun action--probably. Then again, maybe not.

Cowardice doesn't make someone less dangerous. In some cases, it might make them moreso.

Isn’t the shooting looters during a disaster an acceptable way of disposing of someone that would otherwise cramp your lifestyle? I mean by ridding them from your abode it removes their burden on society because they certainly were not planned for nor wanted, they just sorta happened as a consequence of I’ll preparation of the storm or whatever.

As looters are unwanted, it is best just to remove them expediently.

It better be both. The law requires it for "self-defense. Kyle Rittenhouse wasn't protecting property when he shot and killed those fellas. He was defending his life.

Sure! OR your business. lethal force all the way!
But looting from a closed, boarded up Ralphs, Best Buy or Walgreens isn't a "home invasion".

President Biden is headed to Florida tomorrow to look at Hurricane IAN damage, and to meet with Governor Ron DeSantis.
Will Biden be able to restrain himself and act "Presidential"?
