“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”

We should protect those who can't do it for themselves.

Il give you a bit of background...
Ex partner of mine found out she was pregnant after we had split but didnt want to tell me "to get us back together" which i respect but she decided to abort due to she knowing she would not be able to cope alone (as well as other reasons)

She thought i would be mad but i wasnt. If i had known about her pregnancy i would have certainly wanted to keep the baby but the relationship was so toxic i didnt want to be around her.

Personally i believe the ultimate decision comes down to what the women wants (say 51% v 49%) but should people be labelled as murders for making that decision if perhaps they had no other choice but to? But this is why i made this topic as i wanted to see real peoples opinions

Those body parts are really important to Science, the religion without morals.

It was fine when thousands of egyptian babies died. Or did you forget about that chapter? BAMN

Yes, Christians oppose abortion, as does anyone with a shred of humanity. Again, the main driving force is not religious doctrine, it's simple logic and compassion to propagate your own species and protect the young and vulnerable.

Then why doesn't the state issue conception certificates instead of birth certificates?

I have another younger sister whom when she turned 16 as a matter of fact, was able to get birth control.

And not for the reason you think. She wasn't "active" till her 20's. The doctor suggested putting her on birth control to help her Hormones at the time. And thank goodness they did.

And it prevents conceptions from taking place.

I'm not for abortion, but there are instances where there may be an emergency for the Mother in which there may be no choice.

Worked in a Catholic Hospital. St Mary's Reno. In the ER we had 2 special ER room for this.

Spontaneous abortions. Not everyone womb bearing person will naturally carry full term.

We all know this.

It's hard when you have a heart, and the motto is "Do No Harm".

Who's more worthy of living? Mother or child?

Both are.

Abortion is the intentional ending of a life simply because it existed.

Safe, legal and rare.

That is where most folks land. However, late term and discussions of post birth abortions have been pushed recently.

Too far.

I agree in some instances abortion is necessary to protect the mothers life and in some other exceptional circumstance, i just don't agree it should be a method of contraception for irresponsible parents.

Maybe ask a woman that has lost a baby through miscarriage?
She might be able to shed some light on the subject.

And their opinions on "Christian Dominionism" should matter to anyone why exactly?

Are you claiming Fundamental Christians are not the #1 reason against abortion?

I'm willing to bet there are far more people opposed to abortion than there are "fundamental Christians"

Babies are alive, as i said at the very start they have their own genetics, brain, thoughts, feelings and emotions.

Before you start the clump of cells argument, that's all you are, just a more developed clump of cells yet biologically the same configuration of systems as an unborn child.

Procreation should be a federally licensed privilege like any other occupation that involves gestating and nurturing animals.

The majority of abortions are for a matter of "convience" and not due to severe genetic anomolies or life threatening factors that affect the Mother.

The material from these fetuses is used in scientific study to help create treaments for people with various conditions. The child, even if non-viable is carried to term for organ harvesting to help save the lives of infants who could benefit from the transplanted organs of the non-viable baby.

Money makers are benefiting from both cases, but no one wants to talk about that aspect.

For the record, I am Pro-Life except in extreme circumstances, such as Etopic Pregancy or other Life Threatening conditions.

The loss of the Life of a Mother is more tragic in my opinion, as she may be able to safely concieve in the Future and give birth to a healthy child, but I am staunchy opposed to abortion as an "easy way out" for those who refuse to practice preventative measures to insure conception does not occur in the first place.

Adoption is still a viable option.

I find it very odd that any government should be able to order women what they should, or should not, be able to do with their own bodies.
Especially with major overpopulation issues.
And it's not exactly the Beverly Hills crowd that are having babies out of control and demanding that we pay for them.

I occasionally read over at Mumsnet (a British discussion forum for mums), and I've noticed the stark contrast in attitudes between our countries. It's quite interesting to see and read.

I would say there are three main reasons folks oppose abortion:

1. Religion
2. Constitutional right to life
3. Plain old misogyny

In terms of religion and the Constitution, the fundamental principle is that everyone has an absolute (and/or) sacred right to life, that cannot be taken from anyone, including the unborn. Therefore, abortion is wrong.

The third point -- misogyny -- is self-explanatory.

For the greatest part, most people -- not all, but most -- approve of abortion for some circumstances and conditions, such as rape, incest, and threat to the mother's life. Most people approve of unrestricted abortion for at least the first 12 to 16 weeks, up to "quickening." A very very few approve of abortion throughout the pregnancy. And a very very few oppose pregnancy in any and all circumstances, even if it kills the mother.

Also in Wales and a guy,but I don't buy the idea that guys can't have an opinion on the subject-but even so the final decision should be made by the woman.
If its a matter of the womans health,or if the baby has awful health issues,or if the woman was raped-I really don't see the issue.
If its touted and used as a lazy form of contraception, and industrialised for profit in that manner-I think that is disgusting.

Hello from Wales to Wales!

Im with you on this, a women should have the ultimate opinion on it but if the guy has direct connection to the pregnancy that should be the only time he has a say.

Completely agree with you if its a health/rape issue then could people look past the murder baby side.
