Mobilizing a few million troops is fairly easy but supplying them with guns, ammo and food is much harder especially with Russia's history with supplies.

Putin would sacrifise also he`s 2 doughters in case things go to MAD , and the Russians in general . I doubt he is willing...and even if would be, there is others also required to push the button.

If that's the case then the question arises why is he escalating?

From here he can only back down (and most likely be retired) or take it all the way.

What else is there?

Good question.

putin is no longer behaving like he is sane.

I can think of no other answer to your question.

He is trying to pull a victory from his defeat. Threaten the use of Nukes in hopes Ukraine backs down from its offensive to retake their own country. It's one thing where Russia is kicked out in the Kharkiv region however if Ukraine moves into the Luhansk and Donetsk then it present major issue for Putin. If Ukraine retakes Kherson and then the rest of the "land corridor", as well as Crime.. If the bridge to Crimea is targeted, and I expect it will be, then Putin will have lost everything.

The revolts occurring in the Russian Military re: fighting in Ukraine.. The fact that 4 former SSR's are now at war with each other, with all the countries in question expecting Russia to involve itself and choose a side..

The reason Putin is making the threats he is is because he is trying to grasp a victory from defeat and it wont work. Putin as President of Russia is coming to an end.

So Ukraine has found out. Their troop levels are now at a million men but they have no experience combat yet. Everyone always claims how they will act in a situation.

Experiencing it first hand is always an eye opener.

People do not rise to the occasion. They fall back to their level of training.

Anyone out there screaming "To the last Ukrainian!" is partially to blame for this escalation. Russia's invasion wasn't the answer but neither is sending billions in lethal aid to Ukraine who has been using that aid for years now to kill civilians in the Donbas region.

I just wish you all could see you are being used as pawns to stoke the flames of war... You don't have to support Russia, but you can't support Ukraine...

Yes, I can, and will.

The "escalation" is down to Putin's disastrous war. He thought Ukraine and the West would roll over.

Wrong.

Rest assured sir I don't support any of them The world should have just turned its back on this conflict and let those two duke it out and then let Darwin's law prevail

That thought process / mindset was used at Munich and it costs 45 + million lives.

Alexander Haig: We are trying to de-escalise a war.

Margaret Thatcher: So am I. But you do not do it by appeasement. You increase its chances. You see this table? This was where Neville Chamberlain sat in 1938 when he spoke on the wireless about the Czechs as "far away people about whom we know nothing and with whom we have so little in common". Munich! Appeasement! A world war followed because of that irresponsible, woolly-minded, indecisive, slip-shod attitude and the deaths of 45 million people.

That's an unintelligent and assuming question, world war II and the Ukrainian Russian conflict are two separate entities they do not share any similarities other than people shooting guns at each other.

Ukraine is a corrupt government system so corrupt that when the last president of the United States tried to look into the corruption the Congress tried to impeach him to hide what they had over there and Russia well we all know who controls Russia it's not Vladimir Putin it's Alexander Dugan and the oligarchs, both countries are criminal in their behaviors, so to answer your question no I would have not bugged out for Hitler, and since you want to compare this to Hitler I would entice you to watch the documentary because I know reading is probably hard The great war and you don't even need to watch the whole thing just the first 3 hours of it to find out where we are and it's not world war II sir not at all.

. So you're rooting for a third world war are you? You want the United States to get involved in this so badly that hey just to prove you're right You're right Vladimir Putin was Hitler after all Man he even had a secret stash of lil Hitler mustaches and toupe hidden away in his closet when we finally took Moscow we found it.

I stand where I stand let those two duke it out and stay out of it otherwise the varsity team of cheerleaders wanting world war 3 will have all the blood they can handle on their hands and boy howdy will it feel good to have been right won't it
