Response from Alexei Navalny on Putin's latest move.

Mr Navalny, Russia's most prominent opposition leader, said in a video message from prison: "It is clear that the criminal war is getting worse, deepening, and Putin is trying to involve as many people as possible in this.

"He wants to smear hundreds of thousands of people in this blood."

Meanwhile, Russia's anti-war groups have also called for street protests against the mobilisation order.

"This means that thousands of Russian men - our fathers, brothers and husbands - will be thrown into the meat grinder of war," the Vesna anti-war coalition said.

"Now the war has come to every home and every family."

Either one would require some serious brainwashing.

Two birds.

One stone.

Tell me who you can’t criticize and all……….

Amazing how that works?

While it's a horrible thing to consider, a few Russian Patriots willing to risk being Tiananmen'd for their freedom may be humanity's best hope right now.

Not our last hope, but the best hope to prevent what putin has planned.

God Speed Russian Patriots!

Don't let putin do this to your country.

American Patriots will do whatever we can to help you from here, and we have a lot more tools than in 1989.

Odd that the Russians are cannibalizing their military school instructors to send men to the Ukraine war.

In 1944-45, the Germans also dismantled their training army structure to reinforce field units ... but it was a consequence of the military regions of those training formations being overrun by the Allies and the Soviets.

Curiously, the Luftwaffe took the same approach regarding the employment of transport pilots at the Battle of Stalingrad.

Aside from the Germany Army and that country's fate in that time frame. Slim's 14 Army crushing the Imperial Japanese Army comes to mind (1944-45). Slim masterful grasp of manouver warfare, use of deception, and attacking the enemy's weakness are mirrored in Ukraine's recent offensive.

Nobody has a soldier on Russian soil and Putin is already making a cadre out of his training forces.

As a side note, the hollowed-out size of volunteer armed forces in New Zealand and elsewhere is worth considering, but that is where the comparisons to the Russians end. In 2 - 3 years, Russia is facing a crushing defeat in Ukraine. Hence, the risk of Putin employing weapons of mass destruction is increasing.

I'm kind of surprised Navalny was able to get a message out. I just looked for an update on him the other day since I hadn't heard anything after he was suddenly transferred to another prison. Apparently he's being denied access to his lawyers.

What on earth are you talking about?

I was just asking where the relevance is with Biden and this thread, that's it.
Nothing snarky, not having a dig.

Perhaps he considers nuclear armageddon as a stalemate.

If he knew his life would be over the moment he backs down and he cannot accept handing such a soft, complete and total victory to the globalists then if he is insane like you posit he might as well launch everything seeing he is going to die anyway.

A sane man would not.

Lol
You replied triggered one.
You run out of salve?

A question was put forward about Russian trolls.
I responded to such.
It appears all Russian trolls are not equal.

And in this event you can genuinely trust all the things brought here.

My comment was just as honest.
NOTHING about the Ukrain event is as advertised.
Pointing out some spin is off limits.
Elevating the other is praised.
Odd, no?

That is exactly what has so many so terrified.

I honestly don't know if putin is insane, but he has not been behaving rational, and he has a long history of behaving extremely 'rational'.

So I honestly fear that he is quite literally an insane madman with nukes making repeated threats to use them on everyone if he doesn't get his way.

With new reminders that he isn't bluffing.

Fun Times.

One thing to take from that video is that Putin is not bluffing.

Putin's got to do something or the occupied territories will be taken back by Ukraine. Russia is outnumbered 8/1 in the Karkhov offensive. Game over with that numbers game.

The annexation idea is pretty much the only way to go. Any attack on those territories will be a declaration of war on Russia. Fill the territories with Iskander's and masses of military like in Kaliningrad.

You think more iskanders and russian conscrjpts are going to change the outcome?

Or that any country other than russia will consider the Ukrainian territories as russian any more than if putin had just said 'abracadabra, this is now part of russia' and waved a magic wand?

I'm just considering it from a Russian point of view! What else can they do bar retreating back to their borders? It's do this or retreat. Do you honestly think Putin is going to retreat that easily?

Ah, I frequently try to do that myself.

But found that game theory only works when all are rational players. putin is no longer a rational player.

All this does is delay the inevitable, he'll still have to make the nuke or retreat decision, and the nuke option guarantees the end of russia forever.

While a rational player would retreat immediately when checked like this, putin seems determined to force his own check-mate.

True
Ukraine is dealing with a crazy in Putin. He can only escalate, he has no way of going back now. The speial operation as they call it is pretty popular with Russian's who have had their nose rubbed in it since 1991. Indeed Putin's popularity is very high. Millions of fighting age men to use as cannon fodder on both sides...............Then the nukes start flying

I didn't mean to imply that it wasn't, just trying to calm folks in a pretty triggery environment.

I guess I don't understand your question, is there a point of view that isn't allowed here?

However, just because he's gone mad doesn't mean his generals or the other autocrats have. I have a feeling the second Putin orders a nuclear strike is the same second he'll be "resigning."

Triggered?
Hardly.

Considering having a Margherita with my lunch sat out in the garden enjoying a mini Indian summer of sorts.

Just a straight forward, genuine question; what has this thread subject got to do with Biden?
If you choose not to answer then that's fine.

Then trying to make an issue of it when there is no issue to be made.....why? What's the point?

Only one person sounding triggered here mate and it certainly ain't me.

Calm down and have a drink with me.
Far more important things going on in the world and I dare say both of our own respective lives.
