Russia can raise two million army plenty of reserves.....

It'd be a bit like us calling up The Boy Scouts, Girls Guides and Boys Brigade and expecting them to fight against regular, trained and efficient Army troops.
Its canon fodder.
Its obscene.
Its desperation.

Since all their resources have been going into missile technology, like getting Americans up to the space station I hope that you are right.

LOL

It's hilarious watching you all argue over whose lies are more true.

The same Western media that says we aren't in a recession, that the unvaccinated will all die, that a human variant of COVID happened to pop up naturally in a wet market next to a lab Fauci funded working on it, that COVID vaccines are safe and effective, that the coasts will be underwater in 20 years, that the global elites don't want to force you into poverty under green policy, that white supremacists are the primary threat to domestic security, that elections are totally secure unless the Democrats lose, that Trump collusion was real, that Hunter Biden's laptop wasn't, that the southern border is secure, that 40 pound prosthetic breasts are a gender identity, that sending migrants to wealthy playground islands is human trafficking, that honking a truck horn is racist extremism, and that you're a terrorist commiting hate speech if you don't want your kid to view a scantily clad man in make-up gyrate his crotch.

LOL

This site is slowly turning into a parody of itself.

Bones,

No idea where it is headed.

Russia has been on a bad "nuclear armed Weimar Republic" trip for a couple of decades now. Stepping away from that entails admission of multiple failures, an act that is practically suicidal in Russian society.

I suspect a lot more Russian soldiers will die in the near term.

Cheers

we've spent years ramping up the ability to train Ukrainian military which has now evolved into basic training for civilian volunteers that'll probably deliver better trained and kitted out troops to Ukrainian front lines sooner than Russia can counter..

the clock is now counting down..

If that's the case then the question arises why is he escalating?

From here he can only back down (and most likely be retired) or take it all the way.

What else is there?

Good question.

putin is no longer behaving like he is sane.

I can think of no other answer to your question.

They will excel at committing atrocities in Ukraine. But, otherwise, a lack of training, competency, corruption, and equipment shortages will produce that result. Also, the members of the Russian forces POW will face Stalin-type reprisals upon their return home. After the fighting ends, those Russian POWs who avoid war crime trials might opt to remain in Ukraine and provide free labour for reconstruction purposes. But, unlike many of their Italian counterparts who immigrated to Australia after WW2, they likely won't have such options.

Odd that the Russians are cannibalizing their military school instructors to send men to the Ukraine war.

In 1944-45, the Germans also dismantled their training army structure to reinforce field units ... but it was a consequence of the military regions of those training formations being overrun by the Allies and the Soviets.

Nobody has a soldier on Russian soil and Putin is already making a cadre out of his training forces.

That will not help Russian prospects of sending trained soldiers to the Ukraine war.

Cheers

I hate multi tasking, but we all have to do it sometimes.

It is possible to fight against 'the bad' on many fronts alongside allies that disagree on other issues.

We frequently learn the most from those we disagree with, and are certainly more effective that way.

THAT used to be an uncommon commonality here, and I've noticed it returning in a lot of small ways recently.

I hope and believe that this will become an even more common trait here again.

Speaking honestly about russia for example, does not mean that anyone has forgotten what politicians and media have done and continue to do to us.

It just means that like minded people think that dealing with the russian invasion of Ukraine in any way we can is urgent and potentially catastrophic on a global scale, so we focus on that instead of our differences for a while.

I wonder how the Russian trolls will try to spin this as being proof that things are going well in Ukraine.

What For and How Many russians Will be Mobilized by putin and shoigu (Analysis)

Conclusions:

By introducing mobilization, putin signed off on his inability to deal with Ukraine. Mobilization will not bring victory to putin - even the better-prepared personnel army of the russian federation is already drained of blood in Ukraine. It's just a clear act of desperation. The regime will tighten the screws, restrict civil rights, and return real Stalinism to russia. putin decided to throw the russians, who did not give him their consent, into the meat grinder of war. Now the war will enter a larger number of russian families. putin is saving not russia, not the residents of Donbas, but himself personally - at the cost of the lives of hundreds of thousands of russians and Ukrainians. putin is exposing russians to a full-scale war with the West through his senseless adventure in Ukraine.

Can a Jew be a Nazi?
Walter Hollaender was a Jew that was in the German Army in WWII. He was the equivalent of a Lt. Colonel. He was awarded the Knights Cross of the Iron Cross, the highest award.
It is said that thousands of Jews and more than 100 thousand part Jews joined the military of the Third Reich.
