New York City releases PSA on what to do in nuclear attack

New York City Emergency Management Department today launched a new public service announcement (PSA) that focuses on nuclear attack." While the likelihood of a nuclear weapon incident occurring in/near New York City is very low, it is important New Yorkers know the steps to stay safe." The new PSA encourages New Yorkers to take key, simple steps in the event of such an incident. That includes getting inside and staying away from windows. Once inside, stay there, close all doors, and move to a basement if possible. The short public service announcement identifies three steps New Yorkers can take "as the threat landscape continues to evolve."

This is not good advice. 1: The atomic blast will cause a huge EMP, knocking out anything that is electrical for hundreds of miles.
Putin could use a smaller Tsar nuke, 50 Kilotons on NYCX. Here is an example provided by nuclearsecrecy.com...

Let's see now. Get inside quickly. Away from windows. Middle of building. Sounds good.

Take off clothing and shower. And the water tanks on the roof are contaminated. That is very bad showering with radioactive water.

Stay tuned? To what exactly. All consumer electronics are fried unless you have a radio, batteries, etc inside a refrigerator.

I guess duck and cover is still as useful as this psa is.

I think the timing of this psa is suspicious as it has been discussed in other threads that there seems to be a need for a distraction in the very near future. This is likely forshadowing the type and location.

I don't know if this is common or not, but the number of private aircraft leaving New York is too numerous to count.

From a world political standpoint, would a blue state be more at risk for nuclear attack or would it be a red state?

They are admitting that their proxy war in Ukraine isn't working nor are the sanctions.

Do these rich folks believe that their little underground cities, bunkers will save them? spare them? if the radiation on the surface is filled with with radiation the air itself is also damaged.

Their underground cities would likely last them but not for many years.

Anyone know when the last nuclear PSA was issued in new York? Or anywhere in fact?

The bigger the city, the bigger the target. After the strategic targets, military bases, large bodies of water, etc. Most big cities are more likely to be blue.

I think they are preparing for a single bomb. In a shipping container or some other non suspecious delivery system. No tracking the incomming missile or bomber. They can blame anyone they want.

Most of the hard radiation is gone after the first two weeks. I would wait a month. No need for years.

All the stronger radiation sources have short half life's making them stronger sources but short lived.

Look at the Ukrainian nuclear tragedy Chernobyl disaster.
The elements of radiation are still there, nature has returned to the cities where 500k or so people used live there.


Than lets not debate about the nuclear winter years that most would experience after the bombs would drop.
Only in theory many had studied the outcomes of what would happen if a Nuclear bomb would hit.

Its why many are trying to avoid this conflict whatever in Syria or elsewhere.

Theres no military advantage for Putin to nuke just NYC. If Russia were to launch they`d go for military bases and institutions like WestPoint and the Pentagon around the globe in a somewhat coordinated effort. If a single US city were to go up in a nuclear conflagration, just one by itself then rest assured it was a false flag.

States that it would cause the most damage to our infrastructure, military, politicians, and finances. Washington, New York, California, Texas, Florida, Hawaii, Virginia, and Alaska. IMO.
