No. I just asked how YOUR economy was doing. Touched a nerve, perhaps?

How are those food prices where you are? i am sure it must be not doing good. Maybe just maybe NATO/US shouldn't haven't rushed to the sanctions without a plan.

No. They hated Soviet hegemony. Learn some history. And facts.

Brainwashing? That's how some folk hand wave massive national votes for free will and self determination.

Do you oppose that?

Why do you think so many former Soviet Union member states broke away and became independent?

Should they just have been re-assimilated, against their will?

Brainwashing..................... By outside influences. Funny how those 'coloured revolutions' often were spearheaded by locals educated in western institutions Sakashvilli style.

Color Revolutions, Even the Chinese are aware of this. Most those who pushed the regime changes in those former Soviet Union member states that broke away.

Weren't done by regular citizens of their country.
In East Germany there were many students that were members of NGO groups behind the protests and leading up to the fall.

I suggest you do some research on Color Revolutions, Yellow Revolutions, regime changes, these polices that happened in those former soviet union broke away states happened because of a ronald reagan policy.

Groups like the NED among others which train regime change protestors.
This had been long documented.

They hated Soviet hegemony

I can see how life currently within the EU had been working good with the high costs of living in most of those former Soviet Union states.

By your same logic i suppose Libyans truly hated gaddafi and they got rid of him.

Look at Libya now a failed state and only because majority of Libyans wasn't behind the color revolution.

Ukraine has always been important to Russia. It's the jewel in their crown. You think they were going to let Odessa etc become NATO ports like they were going to let Odessa etc become Nazi ports back in the day?

The CSTO will never allow Ukraine to go NATO and the only way to prevent that is through the special operation.

I have no preference to either side here be it Washigton / NATO or Russia / CSTO................... Yet one has to see things from the eastern perspective and what they have experienced over the past 31 years watching western inspired coups all over the FSU to plant western educated locals into power and bring in the usual Yankee doodle dandy military occupation and economic system with them.

Does everyone really expect the Russians to sit there forever and continue to have their nose rubbed in it? Russian's have their sense of pride but the western leaders have shown no respect whatsoever to them and their vital interests in their near abroad. Pushing forever against Russia was always going to get a reaction, JBurns acknowledged this too over the past few years on here. This is Russia's Suez moment. They were pushed into this just like the Japanese in WW". We knew it was coming because that's how the West, notably English speaking world acts in creating a so called crisis to get economic and military domination over a said region. Totally inevitable if one looks at the timeline since 1991.

Again, how long would it take for Ukraine to gain NATO membership?

Years.

No urgency excuse.

Never had you down as an apologist for a warmongering dictator. Guess I was wrong.

Nope don't oppose anything. Yet |Russia is a regional power and by continually pushing against it a reaction like the Special Operation was inevitable.

In addition I now plenty of people from the east, Azeri's, former East German's from Dresden who say things were actually better pre 89 and 91. Hardly and crime, excellent education system, excellent healthcare too, a guarantee of a job for everyone, a more cohesive society free of terror and drugs.

Let them all sort it for themselves. If anybody wants to get involved I'm convinced the combatants will atke any foreign mercenaries they can get their hands on as gun fodder for the oligarchy. But please.............................. Keep the British military out of it. Just like the Crimean War back in the day, getting involved in a war in that region is insanity and absolutely non of our business.

Exactly and it's the same old process time after time yet brainwashing by the western MSM leaves most people over here believing the so called coloured revolutions are spontanious and the will of the people

Like i said you should do more research on the very topic.
The Chinese already called out the US gov on this.

Even mocking back Sen McCain threats in the past of a Arab Spring style regime change in China.

Lol Old Carpy not stating I agree with the Russian intervention I just see it as inevitable considering the general flow of things post 1991. Would the USA not act in the same manner if Russian troops were going to be stationed in Moscow and Canada at some point in the near future, when obvious to a blind man Russia had been supplying their military and training their officers and obviously not for the fun of it. No fan of Russia whatsoever, yet one has to see it from both sides. Sleep well / watch those skies
