As an example what's to stop a nutcase using a car to plough into a crowd?

Knowing better than to do so springs to mind.

But that doesn't mean its in any way a good idea to allow children(unattended) or people with mental health issues, access to guns, or any other weaponry for that matter, nor ignore or refuse to implement the laws that are already in place to stop them having access to guns.

Just because they will always find a way doesn't mean it should be made easy for them to do so.

There's already processes in place for that reason, those laws already exist, so your point is?

27 amendments to the U.S. Constitution have been ratified since its inception.

You don't need to take away your right to bear arms.

But changing the second amendment so as to ban children and the mentally unstable from bearing arms may be an idea.

Considering the number of mass shootings and deaths associated with those types of people having access to guns.

who decides if one is menially unfit?

Here in the UK, we had Dunblane. A school massacre by machete.

Machete?

No it wasn't, it was the UK's biggest mass shooting which resulted in 16 kids and 1 adult being shot dead before the shooter killed himself.
Legislation was introduced as a direct result of this horrific shooting.

Nothing anywhere near that magnitude has happened since....lets hope that continues.

Read up on it.

Sorry, but I think you should.

We have no guns, you now can't even buy kichen knives without ID so we should be safe right?
Now the rappers shoot or stab each other, completely ignoring all the bannings.

Murder rates in general in the UK are no where near the levels that occur in the US.

Yes, we have our problems and they need addressing as a matter of urgency but it really is impossible to compare the two.

So there is the useless reality of your naive little idea

The last thing the UK would need would be a relaxation of current gun control laws.
And the last thing the US needs is the overnight introduction of UK like gun control laws, that would be shear insanity.

But, and its as BIG a but as it gets, they sure have to do something because what they have at present clearly isn't working.
Apparently 27 school shootings have occurred in the US so far this year....that beggars belief.

We see the usual lame excuses and finger pointing but no attempts whatsoever at implementing even quick fixes before actually addressing core issues.
It seems the vast majority are very quick to blame but in reality wish for the status quo to remain.

It's like London knife crime, you can't outlaw the weapons and expect that to solve the underlying issue. I don't fancy eating my steak with a spoon.

It's not the globalist agenda i see killing kids in schools with guns but nut jobs with their own little agendas at play.

Well if you are mental you should not have access to firearms simple as that really.

As to who decides if you are mentally unfit?

That would be doctors, psychiatrists, and phycologists.

Same people who have done so for quite some time.

Cant ban or outlaw knifes because they are tools.

But that doesn't mean we should be selling them to children nether.

They are not going camping with them Grenade, but hunting, each other that is.

It's our sick society and the people in control who influence and warp minds into acting out such terrible atrocities.

We've spent the last 50 years glorifying violence.

I'd start with Hollywood, the destruction of the typical traditional family unit and the unfiltered internet.

I grew up playing outside with guns(air pistols/rifles) knifes, sticks, stones, bottles, bats, and anything else i could get my hands on, watching Hollywood movies indoors without ever resorting to mass murder probably the same too similar as yourself really.

I don't think we can blame Hollywood for our sick society Grenade given the multitude of other concerns that are doing the rounds.

I wonder if Salvador Ramos was on anti-depressants?
Many mass school shooters seem to be on them.

If someone is intent on killing they will find a way, restricting their choice of weapon won't somehow resolve the issue. Politicising such an abhorrent act is a cowardly move.

Thoughts and prayers with the victims and their loved ones.

Worlds gone mad.

But it does resolve the issue.

The mentality you're holding onto is dying out.

The majority have had enough of this #.

Give it up. There's no need to hold on.

There's better things to do in this world than carry a gun around and worry you will be shot in the back.

Why does America have so much gun crime?
Is it guns that kill people?
Michael Moore asks the question in this film..... it's 20 years ago that the film was released.
Bowling for Columbine (full film).

Some interesting statistics and information included in the link below that may address those conundrums.

Another proud member of the majority.

I don't pander to nor parrot the general consensus, nor will i submit to group think.

Instead i'll examine the hard evidence and make up my own mind, you should try it sometime.

I'm all for a ban on weapons however it has to extend to government. Those who advocate for disarming the general civilian population will one day regret that decision, probably as they line up against the wall to face a firing squad.

The real maniacs in this world are those with fingers on the button of nuclear weapons or the ability to mobilise armies. If you want to hand them complete power you're a fool.

The imaginary majority that has never actually done what you claim they are determined to do, and aren't even doing now when they have absolute control of our government?

Strange.

Children of our era didn't have anywhere near the level of access to adult themes as they do now. Exposure to all sorts of mind warping things are readily available on the internet at such a young age.

Not to mention kids back then socialised more, these days they live in a digital fantasy land, never having any real connections or contact outside their own small circles.

Don't get me started on all the sh!t we pump into their bodies or the woke BS that's led to mass medication of young kids.
