Usually the apathy by proximity rationale applies. However in this case, the current US admin is the loudest voice and the widest wallet.

Malice would be ends to elites, definitely plausible, incompetence is self explanatory and equally as plausible... And correctness would be Russia actually poses a real threat to the rest of Europe. It's all just such a hot mess. Personally I lean towards isolationism, but I understand the justification of the US and UK given the Budapest Memorandum. I also understand the real fear of some of the NATO allies near Russia, and other EU members who were former soviet blocs.

Ukraine government in many ways is no more corrupt than most around this planet.. could be less, could be worse in some areas but overall it isnt a "nazi" country as claimed.

Eh the Ukrainians are doing a good job, we are intervening by giving them tech and arms to have the advantage... as long as the Ukrainians keep doing the stellar job no need to escalate it... not to mention the shear embarrassment this must be giving little old putler.

Now if he did go full retard and started using nukes or tactical nukes then hey... I say gloves off, and it would be time the rest of us put a proper foot in. Russia wouldnt last a single hot minute if that happened, the thought of that conundrum bouncing around that empty head of his makes me smile. Although given how the ruSSian state media and mentality of the people is basically a world without ruSSia isnt a world worth having, who knows what they'll eventually do in the end. But what ever it is... ruSSia looses, and that is alright in my book.

By what measure is Russia losing this war apart from in the misinformation and propaganda reported in the media.

If anyone is losing its Ukraine and they're losing badly. Do some research from independent sources and you'll see what's really happening. Zelensky and his Nazi's can stick to video game footage and fairy tales but Ukraine's demise is inevitable.

As has been said many times. The US is fighting Russia to the last Ukranian.

they are NOT ASKING FOR "BOOTS ON THE GROUND" from other countries but the weapons and other aid to FIGHT THE BATTLE THEMSELVES.

IMO this is something that should BE NOTED AND PUT IN PRESS REPORTS .

they WANT TO DEFEND/FREE THEIR OWN COUNTRY..

not like other countries that "bush wars" have flared up (outside of maybe the fighters in afganistan against russians).

not asking US or anyone else to have "peace keeping" forces but just "give us the tools and we will do it"

If they are citing the Ukrainian ministry of defense than the source is questionable and they arent withdrawing. They are likely withdrawing some smaller unimportant areas.

russia is retreating under fire from some areas where russia was badly beaten, but russia is not withdrawing from areas where the Ukrainian counter offensive is just now getting new weapons and the ability to better fight back.

russia will be forced to retreat under fire from those areas soon though.

Kharkiv is about 120Km from where the real battle is taking place. The Donbas region.

Liman, Popasnaya, and Bakhmut are the main objectives. The one's further west is a holding force.

They did this in Syria. They open up many fronts and concentrate on one area. Those other fronts are fixing operations to hold the enemy and keep them from reinforcing the areas they are concentrating on.

I believe I read that Popasnaya is now under their control. That drives a wedge between the main UA forces in the Donbas region I am betting that Bakhmut is their main objective from which if they continue on to take Slvyansk and Kramatorsk then they have encircled thousands UA forces. Cut off from supply they would face annihilation or surrender.

There is confirmation that both Luhansk and Popasnaya had fallen to Russian forces.
