That picture rings some alarms for me. On August 9, 2021 [8+9] Denver, Colorado achieved the impossible. The air quality was in the top tier of most polluted cities in the world.
The picture that you posted looks like mountains above the city. Since I experienced that fog I can assure everyone it was 100% synthetic. It was like being in a snow globe. They claimed it was inversion due to the forest fires but we have had years of forest fires, ash raining down on our cars but nothing like this. There is no significant heavy industry to cause this type of fog and the lack of water [watch the water?] makes fog an amazing feat in general but of that caliber?
My dogs were so freaked out that they refused to go outside except for a quick tinkle.

When you mention cloud services this brings me back to Hillary Clinton's servers that were located along the Platt River. Could it be that all of her text messages, e-mails and any other communications are in the cloud?

Such an odd encounter today. While shopping at Costco a stranger suggested that I should read Soylent Green or at least watch the movie. What are the odds? She proceeded to explain to me that it was necessary to leave people ill and let them die because the Earth could not handle any more people. In fact there needs to be less, much less.
This is not the first time that someone has told me this so it seems the indoctrination is well established.

All the death is for a good cause.

Yea we love to go hiking in the park. With fresh air and the solemn beauty of nature. Life is too short not to smell the roses. But since Covid the Fast food places are swamped so bad the other restaurants are doing curbside. My Dad still lives in Nashville. They were selling mixed drinks in the curbside pickup. My jaw dropped hearing that. Tennessee, despite the hill people getting their corn from a bottle most areas were "Dry" most of my youth. No alcohol but beer in a lot of places still. It amazes me how patient people are, sitting in a line 20 minutes to get a hamburger at McDonald's.

Having Internet connected cell phones makes it easier to sit in a line and wait for 30 to 40 minutes for virtually anything.

It's interesting that at some places if you get out of the car and go inside, they keep you waiting... as if to say how dare you not wait in line like everyone else.

Which explains why I won't wait for anything. Nothing, I wouldn't wait in a line for 20m bucks. It is the phone that makes me even more intolerant of the line waiting thing - folks staring at the phone are empty husks, soulless voids. I passed some place doing "testing" and maybe jabs in the winter and was stunned at folks just waiting in their cars.

I saw this coming 20 years ago, the part I missed was that we now have a generation raised by these things.

I have to close this out saying I like looking for odd details to prove/disprove things, and I went down a rabbit hole the other day. Basically, I was curious about curly hair in pictures from the International Space Station, what the humidity, temperature, and dew point is, and how curly hair would/should look in the pictures. I even went back to the publicly available documentation that explains the Atmosphere Revitalization System (ARS) for the Lunar Module. A lot of thought went into all of it, most likely from the very beginning.

Oh, and their curly hair seems fine. Apparently, they are on the high end of the "ideal" dew point for maintaining their curls. In case anyone was worried.
