Are you kidding. People hate Trump and Obama and Biden and Mitch and McCarthey and Pelosi and so on and so on.

If you are a politician, someone hates you.

So that makes it OK and perfectly normal that someone could be chatting away about a topic like baseball and suddenly the way an umpire does or does not make a call segues into Trump hatred?

No one normal does that with most any politician no matter how much we dislike them. I never blamed a failed call or a traffic jam on Obama ... or Pelosi or McConnel for that matter. But I have seen and heard people seriously blame them on Trump.

Putin would try to put together the remains
of the old Sovien Union, no matter which
doddering old fool was in the White House.

American's seem incapable of electing anyone
who isn't bordering on altzheimers.

Trump loathes everyone equally. For that reason
he's not a racist.

Yes it gets to the point that most of us cannot understand, sometimes "the trump, trump trump fault, by the democrats."

But you have to understand that the only thing democrats have to push for anything this day is Trump, without him they have no lives, no political crap and nothing to tell their followers what they should be doing.

Is like a political party that has gotten soo low in the dirt, that only dirt on trump keeps them alive.

Is just like anything I seen every in my years of been a voter.

Democrats have nothing, nothing of value as a political party these days.

Is it really diffiult to understand why so many people don't
like Trump?

Kev

LOL, that's the easy part! As I said, he's been the same egotistical asshole his whole life. He likes it and how that works apparently. For me, he didn't make anything I worry about worse, and did make some things I worry about better. If he acted like he was the fugging president of the US and not the new head of the WWE, I'd like it better, but then again, that's just not who he is.

At least with him, he lists his faults on his resume', the others make you work to find out how sh!tty they are.
I can accept his negatives. But I know they exist.

LOL

I have to admit, that when someone is so shameless with their
self-worshipping lying nonsense, that it becomes charismatic,
that does make me chuckle.

I DO prefer that, to do dried up old prune, that doens't want
to offend anybody, but seems more dead than alive.

But in a better world?

Someone in the presidency who didn't cause a constant
uproar from one side or the other.. who just wanted to
keep the bills paid, the country safe from terrorists..
who could be reasoned with.. and who occasionally didn't
lie.. you know...

like some former presidents before things got so polarized,
would be a nice change.

I suppose some of this is down to a manipulative media, including social media.
Obama was the first to use this to great advantage and those with influence in that world didn't want Trump to use that advantage himself.

Perhaps they discovered that it was easier to generate hate against the things that they regard as bad than to generate love for the things they regard as good.

If you ignore personality for just a moment and look at the policies of the Trump era, what was bad?

That was one of the biggest problems with Trump, he was actually for the littler people and the struggling business, but the democrats could not have minorities prosper, they could not have the nipple suckers break free.

So Trump needed to go.

The confederate party of the KKK and the most racist party in history could not have free minorities, Democrat's history speaks for itself.

I'm a fiscal conservative:

1) The trump tax cut

You didn't ask, but things I felt were morally reprehensible:

1) Separating illegal aliens children from their families.
2) Spreading an anti-science attitude
3) Pandering to the very worst in people
a) Denying Covid for most of his time.
b) Enflaming fringe groups that killed innocent people
c) bald-faced lying about nearly anyting or everything

Now, if you want to rebut any of those things.. fine... but you
asked.. I haven't looked up his behind with a microscope, it's
possible that some of those things weren't as negative as they
outwardly appear.

Just asking about policy.

So you didn't like the tax cut?

Ummm, okay.

Separating kids from parents of illegal aliens?

Easy.

Don't be no illegal, won't be no separating.

The rest?

*shrugs*

I asked about policy, not personality.

Yup.

That's why I only reponded with policy, not personality.

Though the incessant lying could be viewed as either
personlaity, or a policy of disregarding the constitution
and well-established precedent.

And of course, the real quetion, is whether he is
responsible for the deaths of 400,000 or so Americans..
that's not small...

the defacto policy of lying and disretarding local,
state and federal law and common-sense precedents
in total contempt..

I should have been more clear on that point.

But it's a matter for the legal system and the history
books.

Way beyond my pay grade.

People who hated Trump seem to not be able to let it go. It almost seems that no matter what topic we're discussing, they will bring Trump up.

Kinda like the people who hate/dislike Hillary can't let go of it and constantly bring her up.

There exists ample evidence that the Clintons

I could say the same about the Clintons

Oh.

Oh, the irony.

No, he doesn't care about them, he doesn't care about anyone but himself, only wanting those people to believe he GAS about them, and they bought that BS from him, too, just like everything else.

China was responsible for 400,000 deaths.

Covid was responsible for 400,000 deaths.

Trump over-reacted in my opinion.

I even criticized him for it in March of 2020 for the heavey-handed government approach to Covid.

My daughter is 28 and used to be a fairly non-interested, mostly liberal person. Typical for her age group and Southern California. That changed with the first total lockdown. Being scared from all of the media induced hysteria, she found herself watching the White House covid briefings live to stay up to date on the latest info. Then she would watch the CNN and MSNBC etc recaps and was astounded at the ridiculous distortions and outright fabrications the media would spew ( like the "drink bleach" idiocy). She's got a whole new perspective on everything, including Trump.

You should try it.

Fixed it for ya. Barry followed orders just like sleepy Joe.

That's a possibility for sure.

I think social media has to take some responsibility for a lot of the division in todays world. Not just in the political realm but in society as a whole.
Most of my friends don't use it but a few do and I've seen them slowly lose their minds (and sense of humour) over things that wouldn't ordinarily have bothered them before.

I stopped watching all media more than a year ago,
other than about 15 minutes a day, to see if anyone
is currently bombing us.

I'm a reasonable guy, no need to dress me up as
'the other'. I'd have a beer with almost anyone
in this discusson.
