If Artificial Scarcity is part of the Renewable energy push - How do people heat their homes during an Extreme Winter?
Scary Times ahead in the Northern Hemisphere, while Extreme Heat and Bushfires are in store for us in the South.

So the choice is buy gas from russia at reasonable prices ot be held hostage by the the US for prices way higher than russia can supply it.
Given a choice between buying from Russia or the US I would choose the US every time , giving Russia more leverage over us is not a smart move.
The UK is moving more toward renewable energy so gas is becoming a thing of the past.
Renewables generated 43 per cent of the UK’s electricity, while fossil fuels provided 38.5 per cent. Offshore and onshore wind accounted for 24.2 per cent in the renewables share: offshore wind 13 per cent and onshore wind 11.2 per cent. Low carbon sources, including renewables and nuclear power, together generated 59 per cent of the UK’s electricity in 2020, according to the figures in the latest Energy Trends report published by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS).

If it isn't scarce then what is driving a 500% increase? Its seems to be a case of supply vs. demand.

He didn't shutdown a pipeline. The keystone pipeline is still flowing. What he did was shut down the xl extension of the pipeline. And the oil that would of flowed through that pipeline is that tar sand oil. Which is not suitable for using for fuel. It has uses for things like making bitumen. And fun fact. China invested something like $30 billion into Canadian Tar Sand Oil production. That oil would of went back to China if the pipeline would of been built.

Keystone. He pulled the permit.
ETA: Remember that time when gas prices jumped by a dollar or more when biden took office and they are still up there? Thats in part why.
As for renewable energy, that doesnt in any way solve heating problems. Most people rely on gas or oil not electricity.
In 2019, the UK government announced that it would be bringing in a ban on gas boilers. This was originally scheduled for 2025 but has since been brought forward to 2023. The ban will help the UK towards its target of net-zero emissions by 2050; it’s estimated that 14% of all CO2 emissions are produced by our homes, with gas boilers making up the majority of these emissions.

This russia paranoia needs to stop before the average person starts to suffer more than they already do in RIP off Britain.

Whats going to power those electric cars? I've done some numbers on that in other threads and just to power 1/4 of the cars in the US would require a dozen nuclear power plants or the state of delaware in wind generators.
Who writes policies and laws? Millennials? If anything corporations control politicians.
And Bitcoin aint going to heat a persons home in January.
But chips required for these vehicles are in shortage now.
