I have tons of blankets, a fireplace, and portable radiant quartz heaters, not to mention a generator if I wanted to wire it up. Apartment dwellers may not be so fortunate however.

And that's where the problem lies , Putin is using our reliance on Russian gas for his own ends , the opening of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline will just make the problem worse as he will have us just where he want's us , compliant and silent for fear of restricted supplies.
So the choice is buy gas from russia at reasonable prices ot be held hostage by the the US for prices way higher than russia can supply it.
Renewables generated 43 per cent of the UK’s electricity, while fossil fuels provided 38.5 per cent.
