Pompeo had a great interview and it was amazing how Wallace tried to swing this. This is worth the watch and Pompeo lays it all out.

Oh for sure. I made this same point the other day. Something like 60% of Afghanistan's population is under 25. They have no idea what life is gonna be like under the Taliban. If they think we were assholes just wait. And I'm sure the women are gonna be thrilled to become slaves again.

The Taliban fighters are not old men, they are young men in their fighting prime. The truth is the US established government only really held the cities. The settlements, villages and towns in the surrounding country side were all Taliban controlled, by local militia forces. Those militia forces were made up of the tribal and government councils of those towns, who were aligned with and are the Taliban.

Of course it won't work. I don't expect to over ride generations of partisan brainwashing. The two corrupt parties are not even necessary for the function of the government and didn't even exist until the mid 1800s. George Washington himself had this to say about a two party system infected with the spirit of the party:

Militaries don't build nations, they break stuff and kill people. They are very good at it. When they killed Bin Laden and the principle power structure of Al Qaida operating in Afghanistan their mission and expertise was done. The nation building is a farce. It always been a farce.

Actually you are. You keep babbling on about air support. Why? Because at the heart of your argument, you believe Afghanistan could be regime changed and nation built into a western democracy. We will never agree on that. Because, I am not ringing my hands over what Biden did, I must be defending him. I am not. I would have pulled out as soon as the mission was done. We pulled out now. I am satisfied. I don't care how it was done, it was done. I was against the nation building from the beginning and will be till the end. It's just the way it is.

Yes Sharia law is what most of those countries choose. It is awful, but if they don't want it. It's there battle to fight. Saudi Arabia has Sharia law. They oppress, maim and kill, their women and homosexuals to. I never hear any of the defenders of regime change in Afghanistan call for the invasion of Saudi Arabia and regime changing the House of Saud out of power.

The United States compassion only extends so far. Actually, when it is beneficial to their geo political strategy.

The are many awful regimes in greater Africa and South America. We don't care about any of those people either.
