How drunk are you right now?

Sadly, not at all, and your minor exception to the rule is not relevant.

It's not an exception. It's the rule.

My only point through this entire back and forth is that the democrats have always been the racist slave owners. Leading up to the Civil War and through today.

So now you are arguing that the north wanted to count slaves as whole people again?

No, my point has always been that the Democrats of the Civil War era were conservatives and the Republicans were progressives.

Have fun trying to rewrite history.

I don't need to rewrite history. Show me any document from the civil war time period referring to republicans as progressive.

LOL.

Republicans today oppose slavery, democrats support it. Same thing different century. Yet somehow you've deluded yourself into thinking you're right.

So if I was a democrat I could have a slave? What's the going rate, and can they

chose the color, sex and body type or are there restrictions. Are used models discounted for wear and tear, age, mileage.

Are Canadians available or only certain ethnicities offered at the slave markets. What do you think I can get on trade in for a white, anglo saxon, welmaintained female.

Look at their ideology vis a vis the Democrats, it's progressive.

You needn't be a Democrat, you just need to live in a Democrat state and be willing to exploit the legal status of immigrants.

Uh, okay Mr. Slavery Apologist. I guess that's what people say when they can't get away with rewriting history.

You just lost all credibility. You don't think there are illegals working on farms and ranches in Texas and through out the South. As a TEXAN I can definitely attest that there are plenty of illegals working in all sorts of industries. So apparently right wing republicans aren't adverse to slavery either. Go to any motel, or meat processing plant and see if you can communicate without speaking Spanish to the workers.

I don't know if you are just naïve of just have an agenda of rewriting history trying to excuse republican treatment of minorities.

You're right, they are all throughout Texas, but not because Texas wants illegal immigration, rather because progressives on the Supreme Court said states can't stop them at the border and send them back. Then progressive democrats at the federal level also said "we won't send them back either, we want our slaves!"

So here we sit, with a bunch of anti-slave states on the border with their hands tied by the pro-slavery democrats.

You just lost all credibility.

Keep wishing.

OMG that has to be the least intelligent article I have ever read. The historical rewrite is amazing. You really need to read history yourself, don't let some "journalist" slant it for you.

Poll taxes: democrats
kkk: democrats
Jim crow: democrats
literacy tests to vote: democrats

This article: "The republican war on minorities goes back to just after the civil war!"

My goodness you have to be dense to believe this nonsense.

Slavery apologist? Lol. Your lack of ability to make a coherent point does not make me a slavery apologist. After all I oppose civil war era slavery and modern slavery. The same can't be said for you, it seems.

ETA: Still waiting on that link showing the republicans of the civil war era were known as "progressives."

ETA2: I have another challenge on top of that. These enlightened progressives you seemingly love, number among themselves woodrow wilson, and it's no secret he was a segregationist and slavery apologist. So if slavery and racism are anathema to progressivism, then how did he claim to be a progressive? And how come he is considered the father of modern progressivism?

Aye it's a race issue at heart.

Im not going to address all the problems associated with such individually for you because the statistics speak for themselves and google is your friend.

Plus im a bit busy in the back garden with a Mojito and my Tomato's at the moment.

But if you think everything's just ticket boo i suggest you look out a window now and again.

Now cocktails are a calling, you have yourself a smashing evening.

Ok, well when you get a minute please explain it to me. I keep getting this answer when I ask and yet no one seems to be able to come back and explain it. It's almost like it's just a convenient excuse to expand governmental power in the name of systemic injustice where none exists. But I'm open to it existing. I don't know everything and therefore could have missed something.

The only form of slavery still legally allowed in this country is as punishment for a crime. This has led to the practice of penal labor in our criminal justice system. A practice that forms the backbone of for-profit persons who rent our their prisoners and then pocket the money.

Now tell me, which party is a large proponent of for-profit prisons?

The Democrats. Your inability to understand the difference between a punishment for committing a crime that you are convicted of by a jury of your peers and enabling the exploitation of people because of their legal status, does not make anyone wrong but you. Honestly, this argument is as dumb as "how can you be against abortion but for the death penalty! hur dur!"

They poor dudes that could not breath.

What was there names, Eric Garner or George Floyd.

They would probably be better suited to explain the situation to you than i ever could.

Well that's if they had not been publicly executed by your police.

Did you miss that?

Because the rest of the world sure seen it clear as day.

And thats only the surface of the disparity involved without even touching on other socioeconomic aspects.
