My wife lost her mother to cancer many years ago, was the hardest thing to watch them both suffer. There may be more bumps on this road, don’t underestimate positive energy's effect on the healing and coping process.

All the best to your mom, embrace everyday with her.

My foster dad had the pancreatic kind, I didn't take him serious (towards him) because I thought if I acknowledge his suffering, he would give up. It was wrong and I feel horrible about it.

Even if she plays the tough one, the description you gave sounds like him, show her its okay to feel whatever she feels and goes through.

All the best

I am so saddened to hear this. I fought cancer about 10 years ago and always fear getting it again.
Cancer does not always equal a death sentence. I will pray for you and your Mom.

If anything does take a turn for the worse, you have a lot of people here who will be by your side supporting you with lots of love.

To anyone who has suffered a loss or is experiencing this dreaded disease, big warm hugs to you you all.

How are you doing today JAG?

I think one of the "nice" things about alternative treatments is that many of them are relatively benign and dont interfere with more mainstream options.

One interesting thing to check out is Artemisinin and cancer. Plenty of approaches to check out, and if she can get a doctor(s) who is willing to work outside the pharmaceutical paradigm ..as well as within it (no reason to throw the baby out with the bathwater).. Could get some good results.

Have you considered any of the things I mentioned?

I don’t see any advantage in fatalism.

Cancer is a fact of life, it’s how you face it that matters.

I didn't see a post from you?
If you have something to share please do.

That to which I am referring are contained in a series of
PM’s I wrote, for you, in which I threw almost everything I have
by way of remediation/cure.

Getting ready to start WWIII with a sibling.
This sibling has been out of the picture for 15 years, but is already sniffing around
for $$$.

I am not exaggerating, this sibling has NEVER once in the last 30 YEARS even sent my parents a birthday or Christmas card.
All of sudden, they care so deeply and want to take care of the estate..

It's going to look like Game of Thrones very soon.

Other sibling is setting up fortifications, and has my back.
We've discussed how much money we are willing to spend to fight the other sibling.

I've let a lot of things slide in the past. I'll fight this. My mom is still ALIVE.
Above all my parents do NOT get along with that sibling and do not want them in control
of anything.
I have full PA, and my parents have already shared their wishes with all of us.

Its amazing how these situations can bring out some "interesting" behavior.

What I did (which Im not saying is the right thing for you) is that with all the people Ive loved.. I told them to take me out of their will completely. In exchange, I asked for them to spend as much time as possible with me while still here.

Not as some empty gesture either, I was very adamant about it. With my dad, for instance, I spent pretty much every day with him for a few years before he passed. At least an hour or two. Thankfully, the cancer went into remission for a while and I got to spend even more time with him
That worked out so wonderfully!

For me, this was more valuable than anything that could have been put into a will. And, I didnt have to deal with the type of idiocy that frequently accompanies these things.

Zero regrets about it.

This has to do with money and it doesn't. I'm well off enough that I don't need an inheritance.
The problem is the care for my dad should something happen for my mom.
All of a sudden sibling wants to move him with her (she really doesn't, its about his money) She lives the closest and has visited them the least, maybe 5 times in 30 years and someone always had to pay for it. I live the farthest and have visited the most. She also doesn't talk to them. She really has not been part of their lives.

Even if you took money out of the equation, my dad doesn't want to live with her as her family was verbally abusive to him in the past.

Oh my goodness, that is a long time.
We’ve been fortunate, most cancer does not run in my family.
Unfortunately the love of smoking does. (Not for me though)

It's lymphoma. He caught it early but cancer is a persistent enemy.

My mom died from cancer, and it was a hard thing to go through. She knew I loved her dearly, but I wish I'd told her what a wonderful person she was, how I couldn't have had a better mother. She was the best, a great lady.
