I'm a smoker, and I likely don't have pretty lungs.

I'd like to enjoy the freedom to breath as I please.

Whatever little bit of air I can still manage to pump in for now.

The irony, a smoker telling people what to do to breathe better.

It’s worse Thant that, the vaccine makers are saying the vaccine won’t prevent infection or stop the spread of the virus, the vaccine just lessons the symptoms.

I heard some health expert say on the news that grandma can’t hug her grandchildren for as long as 6 months after having the vaccine..

If it were up to me I’d string these bastards up by their balls.

Anyway no going back to normal for you, me or anyone whatever your opinion on the matter. Until you get your vaccine health passport that is and the majority of people have also had it. I’d guess at least another year or two.

Why, because you didn't know that this is how all vaccines work?

The irony is as a smoker he probably feels the negative affects of wearing a mask much more than non smokers. Especially if he has to wear one for long periods of time, which is likely the case if he works in a care home.

My mum only has partial lung capacity and she can’t stand wearing a mask either it worsens her condition.

I would advise people to wear one of those visor things. That don’t restrict breathing if you have to wear for long periods.

The vaccine is a novel mRNA vaccine. It doesn’t work like other previous vaccines, hence the term ‘novel’

Now put that in your mask and chew on it.

Most vaccines do not prevent infection but they do prevent severe disease from developing from an infection.

In an ideal world, all vaccines would induce sterilising immunity. In reality, it is actually extremely difficult to produce vaccines that stop virus infection altogether. Most vaccines that are in routine use today do not achieve this. For example, vaccines targeting rotavirus, a common cause of diarrhoea in infants, are only capable of preventing severe disease. But this has still proven invaluable in controlling the virus. In the US, there has been almost 90% fewer cases of rotavirus-associated hospital visits since the vaccine was introduced in 2006. A similar situation occurs with the current poliovirus vaccines, yet there is hope this virus could be eradicated globally.

COVID is a coronavirus much like its cousins which regularly circulate through the population now as seasonal colds, a couple of the many different minor viruses.

COVID will fade into the background noise of seasonal viruses over time and be just one of many like its cousins. Some people already have partial resistance to it thanks to those other strains.

It will be like the flu -- we'll always have it despite being able to create semi-effective vaccines for it.

The part you pointed out about not preventing infection or spread while the vaccinated person is infected is true of other vaccines as well.

Vaccines train the immune system to better deal with the infection so a person will still become infected and might be able to spread it but will not develop severe symptoms, which is exactly what you seem to think is different.

Correct. It does not use viral material to cause the immune system to create antibodies against the virus. But it does cause the immune system to create those antibodies.

This is a new medical technology which has wide ranging potential.

Only favour I ask of OP is stay the f away from me, and stay in your province

ETA I think I may of misspoke, if OP is just saying get some air outside..great, no problem.

I just know where OP is, is getting hammered..not as bad as Ontario though. Our #s are getting a bit better.

My 1 posts are always crap..this is one

OK. But why? If the OP is outside and on their own property or well away from others, then what's the harm in removing the mask and taking some breaths of fresh air and smiling up into the sun?

Not to be too fine about it, but as soon as I exit the building after a workout and there isn't anyone near me, I take my mask off because I want the fresh air after trying to breathe through a mask under high intensity workout for an hour. Not only does that distress me, but it's hard and it's breathing hot stale air. The fresh, cool air (cold in winter) is heavenly.

Just try not to breathe on someone as you may be asymptomatic.

Those of you who are afraid of getting breathed on: why don’t you just wear two masks? Hell- wear three! If they work so well, you know? Wear two or three of those suckers and you’ll be fine.

The enemy is winning, we are all fighting about wearing a mask vs not wearing a mask. Now we have companies trying to mandate a vaccine (CNBC Headline) and all we can do is post and argue about mask? We need to unite as a people. Our freedoms are being stolen day by day. There is an awaking coming and people will have to choose a side.

Just a friendly reminder...

You "breathe" to live.

You take a "breath" to 'breathe'.

...just sayin'.

Carry on.

Thank you, FCD. Do one on “loose” and “lose” too if you wouldn’t mind. ❤️

Hmm, if thats all we are talking about, then maybe I misspoke. I agree if you are not confined in a space, and outdoors, then sure. I probably read replies more than op..I'll own that

Where the OP is, is getting hit pretty hard..88 dead yesterday, so generally, I would like to see people there be a bit more serious. But this is really dragging on, and I don't blame people for giving up..I'm about there too.

It just annoys me I guess, the people that are so sure! the only thing I'm sure of is, I'm unsure.

Nopey nope, dude. If YOU are afraid, YOU stay inside.

OP: don’t arrange your life around this guy’s fears.

Clod: either deal with your fears or stay inside.

That's what I took from the OP is just to get out, get away and take the mask off and breathe a bit. Let the sun fall on your face, and there are people in the thread who are even huffy about folks who go outside in their own yards without masks.

What's with the drama?

And, why are you trying to tell the OP what to do?
