A group of congressional Republicans led by Texas Rep. Louie Gohmert are suing Vice President Mike Pence to prevent him from confirming Joe Biden’s victory in the 2020 presidential election.

"This civil action seeks an expedited declaratory judgment finding that the elector dispute resolution provisions in Section 15 of the Electoral Count Act, 3 U.S.C. §§ 5 and 15, are unconstitutional because these provisions violate the Electors Clause and the Twelfth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution,” the suit reads...

As one who has strongly supported president Trump in contesting the election, I have to draw a line somewhere, and this is it. Filing a lawsuit to prevent the VP of the United States from certifying the "winner" of the election is one step over the line. There is historical precedent in 1797 and 1801 for what is called the "Jefferson Card", and I understand this, but this is not a matter to be decided by the courts. It is a matter to be decided in the house and senate by our elected representatives on whom the responsibility falls, and it's time for all of them to step-up and do their jobs according to the constitution they swore to uphold, whatever the outcome.

This pdf document is a response to the lawsuit. It's from VP Pence's attorney at the DOJ: www.courtlistener.com...

I think he's saying Rep. Louie Gohmert, et al., sued the wrong party?

This webpage lists the increasing number of daily entries for the case, Gohmert v. Pence (6:20-cv-00660).: www.courtlistener.com...

The above is from someone assisting in the Jan 6th effort: twitter.com...

Seriously?

Yes. Maximus ( twitter.com... ) also says if Mike Pence resigns (as rumored) prior to January 6th, this will be the scenario:

If Mike Pence resigns, or is incapacitated, the Senate's President pro-tempore will preside on January 6th.

That person is Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA): en.wikipedia.org...

I don't know if it better to have Pence or Grassley accepting/declining slates of Electors on that day.

They have cheated to try and win the election. They lost. Sorry. The new golden boy "Biden" was caught and will be removed.

Pence hasn't let us down yet. So he will probably do the right thing. The extra pressure from the law suite will actually protect him from any future legal trouble.

He's doing the right thing, don't worry.

Mike Pence has asked a federal judge to throw out a lawsuit brought against him by Republican lawmakers who want the US vice-president to overturn the results of the November 3 election, in a blow to Donald Trump and his allies who continue to falsely insist that the poll was rigged.

FT Article.

Pence doesn't have the authority to do that. At this point, only the Supreme Court can.

Pence is in the perfect position to run in 2024 and crush Kamala Harris. He can also take credit for operation Warp Speed and the vaccines as leader of the covid task force. I don't think he would want to alienate people and ruin his chances.

Federal judge just dismissed this lawsuit. Another legal failure for Team Trump.

Wasn't it the other side that's trying to piss away all your money?

That bill had total bipartisan support demonstrating, once again, that both parties are opposite sides of the same coin.
Well they are, mostly, because many if not most of them have been bought off by special interests etc, and are owned by the NWO, who have been in control to some degree since at least the Rockefellers and earlier. As I understand it, a lot of this goes back to the assassination of Lincoln, and the monied interests then. It’s ridiculous think we can immediately and permanently end that era of corruption, and yet the entire Trump Presidency has been about that, which is why they hate him so much. I’m sure you are aware that Soros himself bitterly complained that Trump has ruined his NWO.
That being said, the Republican side has been a better representation of our Founding Fathers Vision, yes even that vision out of the esoteric cloth. But the degradation has occurred even on that side, and since the Nelson Aldrich hanky pinky occurred (1913), the Bankers rule both sides and the Capitalists feed and support the communist revolution, as they always have, while they themselves become the wealthy the communists hate so much.

They're just as much a bunch of scumbags as the Democrats, you're kidding yourself if you think there's a difference.

There's a difference if your poor or on Obamacare or SS or food stamps. And, of course, the republicans always 100 percent protect the wealthy's money by lowering their taxes anytime they can. That's the only reason they're in politics for.

On many matters like foreign policy, indeed there the same…warmongers and servents of the military-industrial complex.

And Gohmert’s stupid appeal to the Fifth Circuit was just dismissed, mere hours after filing it. The Court is sending a clear message that this case is nonsense.
