The above is from someone assisting in the Jan 6th effort: twitter.com...

Seriously?

I may be wrong about this, god knows. but I really don't think Mike Pence wants to be remembered by history as the only Vice President to assist a coup attempt on the floor of the US Congress.

I think he's really tired of Trump... but he wants power and position badly enough that he'll stick it out. I don't think he'd be a contender for VP under a second Trump administration.

They have cheated to try and win the election. They lost. Sorry. The new golden boy "Biden" was caught and will be removed.

Pence hasn't let us down yet. So he will probably do the right thing. The extra pressure from the law suite will actually protect him from any future legal trouble.

Pretty much my belief as well. Pence was never a Trump man. He'll be happy to cap his career off as the Second Most Powerful Man in the World and walk off into the sunset as the least impactful VP we've had in a while.

There's no way he's going to let his legacy be the Man Who Started the Second Civil War.

The idea of a civil war is overblown.

Seriously. How do you identify the "enemy"? In other civil wars, it's been by location (area of the nation) or language or other very distinct marks. What do you do when the "enemy" is your physician, for instance, or your grocery store clerk or that neighbor or maybe the secretary at your company office?

Friendly bet on this?

I bet you a cuppa coffee that Pence simply oversees the vote in proper fashion and does nothing else. No assigning electors, etc.

This thread has a references a “coup” that is being perpetuated by the Trump Administration.

I am somewhat confused.

Over the past few years I have been watching something taking place that is being perpetuated by the Democrats that is akin to a color revolution.

The undermining and obstructing of the sitting Administration by the media, big tech, the opposing party and in some cases factions of the Administration’s own party.

Bogus witch hunts and investigations.

Coordinated and unobstructed riots in many cities throughout the nation.

Gatherings in Washington DC on election night to contest the results if Trump was the decided winner.

A contested election that was called too early with no willingness to investigate fraud and inconsistencies even if a good portion of the population are requesting it.

But Trump is perpetrating a coup?
I frankly don’t see the logic.

It's easy:

Fifty states certified the results of their General Elections and thereby chose Electors.

The Electoral College met and elected Joe Biden as the next President.

That will be affirmed by the Congress on Jan. 6, and Biden will be sworn in on January 20.

Every legal maneuver has been attempted by the Trump, et. al. group. The Supreme Court has ruled.

Any further attempts to overthrow the results of the election are attempts to overthrow the government of the United States.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for trying but not really.

Have courts and judges never been involved in a coup?

Has stopping a coup in its late stages ever been called treason or sedition by the coupsters?

I think very few coups would work without yes being the answer to the above two questions.

If Pence oversees the vote in proper fashion he will be removing Biden. Biden should be in a prison. Not running the USA because "they cheated the most and best" . He's taken big sums of money from China.
What an obscenity.

Wasn't it the other side that's trying to piss away all your money?

That bill had total bipartisan support demonstrating, once again, that both parties are opposite sides of the same coin.

Which reinforces my point that there's no difference between a Republican and a Democrat.

While your claim of Biden receiving large some of money is just a claim, it exposes your cognitive dissonance.

Are you ok with Trump receiving large amounts of money from Russia?(this is NOT a claim but a proven fact!)

That's some convoluted logic there.

First question - courts and judges are part of the government. Can a government have a coup against itself? Also, looking at your last sentence, are you asking us to agree with the statement or with the negative?

Second question - are you calling Trump or Biden the coupster? It's Trump's followers that are shouting loudest about treason.

Hope that helps.

Remind me, was it Trump or Biden who borrowed $211 million from the Bank of China to refinance one of his buildings in New York?

“That's some convoluted logic there.”

Why?

“First question - courts and judges are part of the government. Can a government have a coup against itself? Also, looking at your last sentence, are you asking us to agree with the statement or with the negative?”

That’s two questions.

Yes, elements within an existing government can be involved in a coup.

The two questions answered with an affirmative will move a coup along nicely.

“Second question - are you calling Trump or Biden the coupster? It's Trump's followers that are shouting loudest about treason.”

Third question actually.

I think that you know the answer to this just looking at my past posts. Would not working with Russia, a foreign country, to sway an election in your favour not be treason if it actually happened? There’s been a heck of a lot of shouting about that over the last four years. Quick to forget.

“Hope that helps.”

No but keep trying
