Like many here, I used to bitterly rage against the lockdowns (not the masks and social distancing), but at the end of the day, it really DOES boil down to hospital beds, including the need to deal with regular hospital admissions at the same time, including the hundreds of thousands of cancellations.

The economic damage is already done and is getting far worse, especially when the government's Magic Money Tree (and associated fake mirages) finally wilts. There is no New World Order behind this pandemic, mainly because the morons in charge haven't got the brains for such a venture, but they have made an endless serious of political cock-ups.

At least a NWO would have had some form of PLAN behind it. At the moment, there is NO plan. Nobody has any idea what the world will be like in the Summer or next Winter, let alone the oncoming Spring.

The whole situation is a disaster in almost every respect... like a slowly sinking Titanic.

Yes, really. That IS the official reason for restrictions. Nothing we can do about that, but what about the article you linked to? The article is from 2nd December. Have things changed greatly in just 17 days? Well, in Wales, for example, there are currently only 10 ICU beds available, which took everyone by surprise. Does this reflect a trend across the UK, though?

The problem with the Nightingale hospitals is having the staff to run them, in the light of the problems elsewhere.

It's frustrating! However, if hospital capacity is NOT the real reason behind restrictions, can we so easily leap to Pteridine's conclusion about the lack of planning...
