I posted the rules. She was not in violation. She should lodge a civil rights violation. The black cop obviously had something against small white women because she was not in violation of any order issued by the state to which the governor advised all enforcement to local health departments.

Then the school has an obligation to make sure that those "rules" are posted where they are clearly visible. They need to be understandable and should be posted in multiple languages. It would then be up to a representative of the SCHOOL to to ask her to comply before the Police become involved.

One question. Was the Police Officer acting in their role as a police officer or was he being paid by the school to be security? That's a whole gray area when it comes to being able to arrest someone.

Except she was following the state rules, and she had a medical condition that normally provides one with an exemption to almost every set of rules.

The other problem is that she was not warned.

So the cop came up and booted her with no warning. So even if she was in violation of the school's rules, she had no chance to make a change. Even with most parents who are being unruly, the receive a warning unless they are clearly over the top in their behavior. I know that one - my brother-in-law happens to be *that* parent.

Which set of rules. Note you are talking about private spaces which this is not as a school is a public space. The cops can claim she was warned, but did they give her a chance to comply or did they proceed straight to arrest?

If she was angry, and she had every right to be since she was following state rules and had a medical condition, then they needed to let her have time to adjust and comply, but it seems they went straight to arrest.

This reminds me of the time my ob-gyn wanted to give me the rhogam shot, and as both my husband and I are rh-, I wanted to know why. She flipped her lid interpreting my serious question as a flat refusal. I never got my explanation, got my shot, and she passed me off to someone else with the label of "problem" patient. All because I wanted to know more.

Both acting like a-holes. The rules are to wear a mask as a spectator. She didn't follow the rules. The LEO definitely escalated the situation. That could have been handled much better.

As a parent of three kids in sports, these idiots that can't follow the rules are going to get sports shut down again. I don't like wearing the mask or my kids wearing masks during competition but that is the current rules we need to follow so sports can go on.
