I was raised to be respectful to police. I took that as ALWAYS. And in my 51 years, it has somehow kept me from being shot at when encountering the popo. I don't know how that gentleman was raised, but he didn't seem to have a lot of respect and if you put the police on edge, who knows what could happen. And in today's climate, to insist that cops let things like this slide is a bit off. question, do you think the current political climate has made the police
A. more trusting of the criminal element, or
B. edgy as sh!t when dealing with the criminal element, due to the possibility of other nutters trying to kill them?

I'd rather nobody ever get shot, I'm anti death that way, but damn, this kind of fits into the "play stupid games, win stupid prizes" category. IMHO

My issue with their breakdown is the “it doesn’t appear he fired with any real accuracy” based on a “flash.”

If we’re going to go down the route of “well yes he fired at them but it wasn’t very accurate” then I expect a lot of cops will find other employment, and the ones who don’t won’t be the ones people want.

I tell you if we don’t start questioning the victims here, all the men around this country getting in deadly confrontations with cops. Not just black men, BTW.

4 different police departments just this April in Wayne NJ gunned down a White guy from NY in a shootout following a long car chase.

Any problem has to be solved from ALL perspectives, not just one, here from only the civil rights perspective ONLY is an exercise in disaster.

There are other deep sociological and psychological reasons for this that aren't being dealt with.

im about at the point where i hope cops just stop responding to 911 calls for an entire month. be like sorry the suspect could be a minority and due to liability reasons we dont feel safe responding to the call good luck with your rapist/robber/burglar/what ever crime and just leave the major cities to fend for them selves for a bit. stuff like this makes me glad i live in the middle of no where with cops that are actually pretty chill and we dont have these kinds of problems ,and on the few times we do no one seems to care because they tend to be clean shoots.

You’re right, it wouldn’t. Which begs the question why the DA would issue warrants for the officers on that charge, then turn around and claim that in this instance, a taser isn’t as lethal as he says it was during the protests.

That's where I am as well. He can charge all he likes... that's his job... but he can't prove anything in a court of law. One expert could have the entire case dismissed with prejudice... hell, I could have the case dismissed!

No, this is political pandering. And it brings up something I have been thinking about recently: is it possible that the left has woken a monster they cannot control? Are the protests so out of hand that these politicians are running scared and making gestures intended not to fulfill their duties or in the interest of the people, but rather to protect themselves from the wrath of their own creation?

If you could see me feverishly tapping the side of my nose, you’d know precisely what I think about that theory. This critter wants to see another term, and if he has to hang a cop or two to do it, well that’s just too bad for them I suppose.

I wouldn't know. I've been in college off and on the last few years with free access to the print version of the NYT. Two of my professors insisted we use it for in-class discussion. After reading it for two semesters, I wouldn't voluntarily read it again unless someone sent a particular article to me. Almost every article I saw had left-wing bias, and even stories that had absolutely nothing to do with Trump took shots at Trump. Not just the opinion pieces either. It's a garbage newspaper.

How instructive is it gonna be when it doesn't show the shooting? All it shows is the lead up to it, when the officers were extraordinarily patient with him and warned him about a zillion times to cooperate.

I'm not seeing anything about these officers being charged, just checked AJC and not seeing anything yet locally. Have I missed something? Anyone who thinks the officer could be convicted by Georgia jury, even in Atlanta, is a fool especially if they are a DA. Only takes one juror to believe what his eyes tell em after watching the video. There ain't gonna be any conviction of the officers on this, nope sorry folks. I highly doubt the GBI will even recommend charges. That Fulton DA is gonna cause the Atlanta Police to quit en mass, his actions have already caused several local governments to refuse to send police as aid to Atlanta with the riots.

And just that quickly, the respect I've earned for Mayor Lance-Bottoms and former Chief Shields over the past couple of weeks is gone.

Unfortunately, I doubt the evidence will be the only thing used in the calculation of whether or not to file charges. It will largely be a political decision, just like in Baltimore a few years ago.

And just that quickly, the respect I've earned for Mayor Lance-Bottoms and former Chief Shields over the past couple of weeks is gone.

What's more, more law abiding blacks have been murdered by the rioters/looters, yet socialists like Grimpachi don't care for those black lives that have been lost, or any other innocent lives lost in the altar of "socialism and anarchism".

Yesterday I saw a video on Fox News of two black police officers being attacked by a band of WHITE Antifa idiots in South Florida. The Antifa fascists were trying to break the windows in the police car to hit the police officers. The officers got out of the car and started punching those WHITE idiots attacking them. When I tried to search on youtube " black officers attacked by Antifa in Florida" nothing came up but videos claiming that police officers were using excessive force. I searched for "officers attacked by Antifa in Florida" and again the first several dozen videos were claims of officers "abusing their powers." So even liberal/socialist social media platforms are helping on making the left angry.

As far as I know 9 officers have been murdered so far by Antifa/BLM. That's not counting other minorities, including blacks being murdered by the rioters/looters. In New York about 600-700 police officers have been injured. Some police officers have been left in critical condition by the rioters/looters.

Why in the world isn't the media that is instigating violence against officers with their lies, and are instigating rioting, are not being charged with hate crimes and incitement to violence such as that CNN reporter Cuomo?

Why aren't the bank accounts of those liberals/socialists paying for rioters/looters' bail been frozen? Or why haven't the bank accounts of those funding these rioters/looters been frozen such as liberals like Soros whom want to see the U.S. burn as he saw, and helped the nazis in Germany against Jewish people?...
