I just don't know anymore.
Things are so effed everywhere.

Reform has to come from both sides.
People don't just get a free pass to Robb, kill people, obstruct police etc...
Yet I'd a cop does anything now, it's labelled racist.

Awful time to be a LEO

She shouldn't have bowed down to that. The person resisted arrest, reached for the cops taser, and then ran. Racist outcome? Or result of his behavior?

Here's a video clip that was on twitter of that incident. (Click on the blue statement below to see it)

Like Mark Dice stated, "Don’t physically attack police officers or try to take their gun, and you reduce your chances of getting shot by them to practically zero."

The person resisted arrest, reached for the cops taser, and then ran.

he not only reached he took it ran then turned and pointed the taser at the cop.

from the link in the op's link,

"Video appears to show to the naked eye Brooks running away four, five, six, seven parking spaces before he appears to turn around and point a taser at an officer. At that point the officer retrieves his weapon from his holster and discharges it, striking Brooks. This account has been corroborated by witness interviews," said GBI Director Vic Reynolds.

this is what is going to be happening all over the country, violent criminals are going to get more and more brazen as this keeps going on.

Is it just about time to lock and load?

Just finished reading the report and yep, the cop is going down on this.

Anyone here that didn't read the report needs to back up and read it. The guy was 40 to 70 feet away when he turned and pointed the taser, that he had taken away from the officer, after the officer tased him, where at that point the officer drew his weapon and fired on the stupid Ahole.

Cops can only shoot if they are afraid for their life correct?

Tasers are non lethal correct?

So a guy is running away and points a non lethal weapon while moving away and they use deadly force...

That is what happened

And the justification of the shoot is starting
Good job

Shields was under pressure from the NAACP .
That group carries a lot of weight in Georgia.

Tasers are non lethal correct?

in the right hands, hands that have been trained. in the wrong hands hands that are not trained very well could kill.

When an officer pulls the trigger, two wires with probes on the ends are released and become embedded in the person’s body. Each trigger pull results in a 5-second burst of electricity. Holding down the trigger results in a continuous flow of electricity. The devices also can be placed flush against the skin in what is known as a "drive stun." This causes pain rather than temporary paralysis and is used to get people to follow officers' commands.

The company that produces Tasers, now called Axon Enterprise, told Reuters last year that only 24 people had died from its devices. But Reuters uncovered "1,005 incidents in the United States in which people died after police stunned them with Tasers." The news organization noted that "it's impossible to know precisely what role the Taser played in many of the deaths." Reuters obtained autopsy findings for 712 of the 1,005 deaths it documented. In 153 of the cases, "Taser was cited as a cause or contributing factor in the death, typically as one of several elements triggering the fatality," according to the news organization. Deaths are rare when Tasers are used properly, according to the company.

above quotes are from this article, there are more sources that say the same.
Police Tasers: How do they work? What are the risks?

i doubt a drunk thug knows how to properly use one.

what about hands that are at a distance and running?

Keep with your justifications. Your mind is made up and it is people like you that is part of the problem.

Tasers are non lethal weapons.
At least thats what the police claim all the time.

This was another murder.

The problem is when an officer loses control of the taser, they can also lose control of their weapon if tased.

I've stated time and time again the common denominator in most of these cases is resisting arrest / attacking the officer.

There was more than one cop and the guy was firing a non lethal weapon while running away.

Those are the facts
They murdered him

So they shot him running away? more sh@t that needs to stop. Don't get me wrong, dude was obviously off his rocker, but shooting people in the back, or people running away is never a good look.

They police in general need to learn, de-escalation, no more no knock warrants, no more civil forfeiture scams, and some of the shootings need to stop.

no it's people like you who excuse thugs for anything they do that are the problem.

watch the video at .25 speed you can see he hit one of the cops with it who reacts to being hit at the :28 sec mark. he dropped his flashlight runs into the car then past it and then reaches for the barbs.

stop defending thugs.

ETA: actually the cop he hit didn't drop his flashlight it's his taser, it's lit up just like the one in the thugs hand.

a taser is not a deadly weapon
he was running

the could not be in fear of their life

in the wrong hands it can be, it been proven time and time again. a wiki cause it fast.

Comparison to alternative
Supporters claim that electroshock guns are a safer alternative to devices such as firearms. Taser International now uses the term, "less lethal" instead of "non-lethal," which does not mean the weapon cannot cause death, but that it is not intended to be fatal, and in most cases is not.[22] Non-lethal weapons are defined as "weapons that are explicitly designed and primarily employed so as to incapacitate personnel or material, while minimizing fatalities, permanent injury to personnel, and undesired damage to property and the environment."[citation needed]
Taser safety issues

so the manufacturer say less lethal now, that should say something to you

it's clear your a criminal sympathizer, and want to excuse any thug that resists arrest and threatens and attacks cops.
simple fact is if he would have not fought the cops grabbed one of their tasers fired it and hit one he would still be alive today.
