You may wish to learn about our fight and flight response before becoming so judgmental.

Fear is health under the correct circumstances, and fear of the unknown is directly related to our survival skills.

It's prudent to fear what you cannot see, especially when it can kill you.

Tyranny is what Boris and his ilk are all about, Freeborn not so much.

Not fear, a desire to see something, or in this case someone, grow and develop.

I spend a lot of time with my Grandson and have a deep love for him.
I want to see how he grows up, help guide him to hopefully become a strong, proud yet respectful human being.

If you can't tell the difference between love and fear then I'm afraid that says so much more about you than it does about me.

You should learn that what separates us from the animals is the ability to overcome these primitive responses and use reasoning both deductive and to a lesser extent inductive to inform our conclusions for which to base our actions and opinions.

Fear is not a good motivator for conscientious reaction.

I too wish to grow old and watch my children prosper. To suggest otherwise is uninformed or downright offensive. You fear death and missing out on the shared experience of life with your grandchildren, that’s perfectly understandable.

The virus however to me is not a danger to this potential future. Authoritarian rule is. I shouldn’t be expected to stop my life because you are afraid to go outside.

We are animals so not much.

We have opposable appendages and somewhat of a large brain capacity compared to other mammals, but that's about it.

Fear is one of the best motivators on this Earth, of that you may be sure.

Its the immediate danger that should concern you not the crap that comes afterward.

Well, that's if you expect to be around to contend with said crap.

If you cannot see that you can not see the forest for the trees.

Yet blind faith in and adherence to an abstract concept is?

Yes it would appear some people are motivated by primal instincts rather than reason.

Coronavirus has made that clear division glaringly apparent.

The concept that all men are equal and should be treated as such? The concept of individual freedom and liberty. Sure I adhere to these ideals.

And that's what Boris is presenting is it, reason???!!!

Coronavirus has shown our beloved first world nations up for what they are, that being a complete and utter farce.

As to division, well the class war is raging strong as ever, Covid did not put a dent in that, hence the people that are dying.

I'm not afraid to go outside, I do, every single day.

Its the extent that I interact with other human beings and their interactions prior to 'bumping' in to me that concerns me.
Not normally - quite the opposite usually - just in the present circumstances.

Your 'freedoms' shouldn't be allowed to endanger my or anyone elses health and well being.

I'm more than aware of the potential infringements on our civil liberties and we must ensure these restrictions are not in place one minute more than they need to be.
But we aren't there yet....far from it.

That's my take on things based on what i've seen, heard and read.
Its not based on fear, its based on love, prudence and reasoned thought.

Fair enough if you don't agree with me, that's entirely up to you.

No, I have no faith in Boris Johnson, like every other politician he’s just a puppet for our shadow government.

He was however a better choice than Jeremy Corbyn, he would have imposed much more draconian policy.

As I posted in another Corona thread:

From the 1928 book Propaganda by Edward Bernays:

“The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country. We are governed, our minds are molded, our tastes formed, our ideas suggested, largely by men we have never heard of. This is a logical result of the way in which our democratic society is organized. Vast numbers of human beings must cooperate in this manner if they are to live together as a smoothly functioning society.
p. 37
In almost every act of our lives, whether in the sphere of politics or business, in our social conduct or our ethical thinking, we are dominated by the relatively small number of persons [...] who understand the mental processes and social patterns of the masses. It is they who pull the wires that control the public mind, who harness old social forces and contrive new ways to bind and guide the world.

You must understand the world in order to provide insightful commentary.

You may wish to consider that the UK is a monarchy at heart.

No matter which way you care to spell it not much "equal" to that mob unless you hold a title.

It’s a constitutional monarchy.

I agree our Queen has vastly more power and resources at her disposal over Boris.

I’m much more extreme than Boris, I’m angry at him for imposing any mandatory lockdown measures in the first place.

I’m a key worker I had no choice so to speak other than to work or quit my job.

Your fear about your health shouldn’t be used to infringe on my freedom.

You see how this works both ways?

How about we all make our own decisions?

Im angry it took him so long to do so.

COVID 19 is a public health concern, not a freedom of liberties issue.

Quite simple really, if the bombs were dropping on your nut would you question entering a shelter, or coming up whist they were still falling?

Nope.
