New daily Record for France, and Deaths are well up from their usual 230-ish.
No exception this time though it seems (like a weeks worth of Care Home Deaths...)

Looks like some states are starting to roll back school reopenings and lockdown/reopening phases to prior restrictions again. I’ve seen Rhode Island talking about it and Mass and Connecticut starting to do it.

Looks like the US is starting to join other nations, curious how this will work it out this time around.

Any other rollbacks to Phase 1 or 2 or more extreme measures, I didn’t expect anything until after the election.

Profiteering is more of a problem it would seem (though this UK Gov't seems to have made it it's Mantra..)

From the Guardian today.

Labour has asked the cabinet secretary to “undertake an urgent and swift investigation” into the vaccines taskforce chief after it was claimed she showed US financiers “official sensitive” government documents at a $200-a-head conference last week.

Kate Bingham, the head of Britain’s vaccine taskforce, showed a detailed list of vaccines which the UK government is closely monitoring to a “premier webinar and networking event” for women in private equity hosted by a Massachusetts company, the Sunday Times claimed.

Bingham, a venture capitalist married to the Conservative minister Jesse Norman, was appointed to the role by Boris Johnson in May and reports directly to him. She combines her job leading the vaccine taskforce with her role as managing director of SV Health Investors, a private equity firm.

According to a video of the event obtained by the newspaper, she showed financiers a detailed list of vaccines which the UK government was closely monitoring and could later invest in. Bingham said: “We haven’t necessarily signed contracts with all of them so far. But they’re all in our sights.”

No doubt about Big Pharma making a cash cow out of the virus, even though like you said might not be what is going on. Most flu shots are given out freely from what I know.

Which is the bothersome part, it widely believed that it just weaken the immune system an become dependent on the vaccines, along with whole bunch of over the counter, or prescription meds.

Yea, they keep pushing ads an more ads for it every year. I'm not completely against vaccinations, just dont see any use in trying to stop something like the common cold, or not having the flu for years is another one.

Covid vaccine should be free to everyone just like the tests. I love how they don’t publish how much this stuff costs and the states and feds eat the bill, definition of a conflict of interest. But whatever it’s a public health emergency. Who knows maybe there will be tribunals and hearings once this is all over but I doubt it.

Hi Wonder if you could verify what this paper is about - Inhibition of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus replication in a lethal SARS-CoV BALB/c mouse model by stinging nettle lectin, Urtica dioica agglutinin

I know it is covid-1 not 19 and I understand its on a mouse model but is it stating

These data suggested that UDA likely inhibits SARS-CoV infection by targeting early stages of the replication cycle, namely, adsorption or penetration. In addition, we demonstrated that UDA neutralizes the virus infectivity, presumably by binding to the SARS-CoV spike (S) glycoprotein. Finally, the target molecule for the inhibition of virus replication was partially characterized. When UDA was exposed to N-acetylglucosamine and then UDA was added to cells just prior to adsorption, UDA did not inhibit the virus infection. These data support the conclusion that UDA might bind to N-acetylglucosamine-like residues present on the glycosylated envelope glycoproteins, thereby preventing virus attachment to cells.

So is it possible a freely available around most of the world herb might help reduce the impact?

There are a bunch of papers like this on various substances. That study tested for absolutely everything, very nicely done and extremely thorough. They confirmed that UDA may bind to components of the viral envelope, more specifically the spike protein. UDA is a lectin, these compounds are used for all types of antiviral research because they bind to sugar moieties in the viral envelope. Think of a moiety as a scaffold that holds important components of a structure together, like nucleotides or a portion of a compound for example.

They confirmed it does not interact or bind to cells, it instead binds to SARS-CoV and that it needs to be used before adsorption occurs, that basically means before virus and cells start to bind with one another. Don’t mix up adsorption and absorption when reading some of these things. So it needs to be used prior to or in early infection to impact the host. This will prevent inflammatory signaling because it cannot get into the cells, the cells will only signal when they are entered and their nutrient levels are compromised or protein and gene expression are changed by virus. They believe it binds to 2 or 3 possible areas in the spike protein which is how it enters cells through ACE2 and coreceptor binding, you block either of those and it can’t get in.

They used IP injection which means into the body cavity of a mouse, it should function similar to a PO drug or oral drug. Dosing will be important, you need to translate that direct application into traveling through digestive tract and the blood to target sites. I didn’t catch how pure their medication was either, I can look again but lots to replicate to be useful in real life. I would also want to check a few things on the uniprot and other databases to get more specifics on some of their cell lines and other data. I would also like to see cell viability studies in the cell lines they used with toxicity because of the way it binds, impact on other immune cells and a couple other things like has it been done with newer strains etc.

A lot of this stuff is used in severe patients in some form, one that I know of is hyaluronidase, which helps break down hyaluronic acid that makes your lungs hold craptons of fluid.

Thank you for explaining that research paper so clearly!

And especially thank you for taking time to post in these threads! There's so much conflicting info going around, and it's so hard to know what sources are trustworthy, which makes me all the more grateful for your input here!!

Are there any particular sources of information that you recommend?

Do you have a supplement 'regimen' that you feel is a good preventative measure?

Nothing really, just live a healthy lifestyle, there’s so much circumstantial and non-peer reviewed material out there that you have to cross reference, look through databases and really read the material. If you have underlying conditions, just check with your doctor. I wouldn’t stress about it and they are getting very good at helping people through the crisis. Many that get really sick have significant underlying issues.

If you are going to look for information, stick to .org and maybe .edu or .gov sites. Stay away from .coms trying to sell stuff with flashy ads and last minute availability or weird garbage. Most people won’t even know they have it. Over a billion were infected for the swine flu over 10 years ago and nothing crazy happened. The only odd issue was some of the vaccines were so rushed they may have made it worse.

Thank you.

Took me 3 reads to notice the spelling difference in this

Don’t mix up adsorption and absorption when reading some of these things.

Which probably means reading the papers I will have done it several times. Thanks again - good luck have fun.

Are you watching Ivor's Videos?

Good science question the models.

Not in the UK currently glad to see he reports on the Main Stream papers questioning the lockdown stats .

Did they close all the nightingale emergency ventilating hospitals?

www.worldometers.info...

Spain has had a correction to the Daily deaths, that is why it is so high today.

France had over 800 daily Deaths yesterday.
Todays Daily case numbers are the bare minimum, as they had data collection problems today apparently.
It should be higher, will probably roll over to tomorrow, or have a correction tomorrow.

(Youtube again yesterday. "Absolute History" Channel on Youtube has a lot of Documentaries about Victorian, Tudor, times, Edwardian Farm, and others. The car/engine channels i usually watch have less daily vids, so had to find something else to chill when I get back from work.)

The "Lockdown" here is only in Name at the moment.
Kids can go to school, people can go to work.
There is NO legal obligation to work from home, it's just a very strong recommendation.
So some companies are keeping their workers on site, rather than work from Home.

It's weird, because most non-essential shops are supposedly closed, most restaurants are closed, but there is still a Boatload of people driving around Paris every day.
Not many people at all on the trains, but they may have gone in by car instead...
A friend who works in Chartres, said it looked like a normal work day in the car park yesterday.

The Gov't was a bit more 'relaxed' this time round with the lockdown, and it's not going well.
So not well, that they are apparently planning a complete lockdown like March-June, because the numbers aren't going to come down by themselves, and we have the worst numbers in Europe, I think.
Not looking good, at all, but time will tell...

She says she had no work for 3 weeks during first lockdown and that only 3 people have died in Cornwall in the last week.

France isn't doing too good again.
It's becoming a habit.
The French deaths include 400 or so from Old Folks Homes, over the past few days.

On a side note, How do Covid Clusters Form ?

Example 1 :
I work in Tech Support.
A twat somewhere, pushed replacement Anti-virus software to all the PC's in the company, and managed to crash about 180 PC's, many of which were laptops of people working from Home.
Nearly all of them have been told to come back into work to get the laptop repaired, or replaced.
(All networks rendered unusable, wired or wireless).
This was deployed wednesday night, so Thursday and today, we had a queue of people outside the office, and many people in the Office. About 25-30 people each day. Not quite sure, didn't have the time to count.
I was told today that my furlough was cancelled due to this bell-end, and that i'd have to work all next week (barring Remembrance Day, which is a Bank Holiday).
Being in close contact with lots of other people, all it would take is one asymptomatic client to have a huge cluster form at work, and for a large part of our workforce being infected, or at least confined.

My knuckles have started to bleed from the industrial soap at work (Anti Bacterial and Fungicide liquid soap).
I have taken some 'Normal' soap to work (Savon de Marseille), but I don't always remember to take it to wash my hands, especially when doing 5 things at once. Been washing my hands more the last couple of days, due to touching other peoples (filthy) laptops. At least the mask reminds me not to touch my face.

So, sh!t can happen, even at the worst of times. The very worst of times.
Super pissed to have to take the F-ing train again next week....

edit : Oh, and over 200 people have apparently been infected since this Summer in Denmark, with a Mutated form of Covid (Mutated Spike protein) that they caught from infected Mink, at Mink farms.
The Covid Mutated in the Mink, and was then passed back to Humans.
There also seems to be Swine Flu going around in some places in the World, and Bird Flu also.
Natures Wrath.

www.worldometers.info...

France has shown 304 new deaths in 24h, but not shown the new cases.
They have given the total number up to today, and I can see why they balked at posting the number.
From the French Santé-Public website, the total number today is 1748705, yesterdays was 1661853.
The first minus the second gives us the 24h daily total of cases, which would be 86852, in the last 24hrs.

Thats only a little bit less than the USA, and getting close to double India, whereas we have a much much smaller population than both of those countries.

Now, they have said on that site, that they are in the process of correcting the Case Numbers, due to data collection problems the last week, and that they would publish the updated case numbers on Monday.
I expect monday to have well over 100K new cases, if not 200K+, due to the correction.

This is what the Santé-Public site says :

Denmark being in the News for Mink Farms, I noticed a few new-ish entries on NextStrain.org for Denmark (Mid to late October).
Maybe someone with Medical Knowledge could give an opinion on the data (Yellowish data points for Europe, inc Denmark) :

Top right corner data point.

Top right corner again.

Bottom right corner on top of the blue data point.
