True but those states, together, will still contribute to the stats and they are not at peak week.

But how much will they contribute ?

New-York City is accounting for over half the Covid-19 deaths in the USA, the other Half thus far are the collection of Deaths taken from the rest of the country.

Could we really be looking at that much of an increase ? I kinda doubt it but I guess we will see.

Not to mention, Most of the Big cities in the USA have already been hit by the Virus if I'm not mistaken

No, NY and NJ might hit peak this week. There are dense urban centers in many other parts of the US that are nowhere near peak. When their curves start to rise, they will be driving the national numbers.

California, Texas and Florida, together, have over 4 times the population of NY. Even if they get hit half as hard they could double the numbers seen in NY.

Having cases and reaching the point where the curve starts to rise sharply are not the same thing. Doesn't mean they will follow the same curve as NY but there is no real way to predict which might or might not.

Dice it how you want. Countries that had experience with this dealt with it a lot earlier. Before the WHO declared it a pandemic they said countries should take action. Those that did faired better those that did not listen will now pay the heavy price.

Yes docter and nurses have been fired for speaking out. In America is seems ok that freedom of speech is curtailed by companies.

an its not because masks are embeded in their culture it is because they have had prevoius experience at dealing with this kind of thing so hecne sit there for two months doing nothing.

Like what? Go all China like with soldiers with shoot on sight orders...lol what do you mean here?

What I mean is more stringent isolation. If you think behaving like an #hole and endangering peeps lives is ok because your freedom is more important than the freedom and life of the staff trying to look after you then fair enough.

USA will now pay a heavy price in life and the graph is not flattening out.

There are different types of freedom you know eh?
You could try being free of the virus

Stop with the trip.

The two biggest funders of the WHO are

the USA and The Gates foundation. Are you saying these are socialist organisations or are you saying you do not know what you are talking about.

You mean when they announced it in late Jan and stopped it a few days later? While the WHO and their "experts" were opposing it? How much earlier should the administration ignored the expert advice of the World Health Organization and the People's Republic of Turtles?

7 January --China declares a new (novel) coronavirusvirus
11 January -- China announces first death
17 January -- China announces second death
19 January -- China announces human-to-human transmission
20 January -- China announces 3rd death, 139 cases
21 January -- first case in US
23 January -- WHO declares it is NOT an Intl Health Emergency
26 January -- death toll 56, all in China
31 January -- US announces travel ban to People's Republic of Turtles
2 February -- 1st person dies outside China (Philippines)
3 February -- China criticizes US travel ban
4 February -- WHO head announces he opposes travel ban
10 February -- 10 confirmed cases in US

When exactly was the time you would have ignored the WHO and closed the border?

And tell me exactly how long did it take for your beloved WHO to declare Covid-19 a pandemic? The reports coming out of China were inaccurate and you know it, any of the Doctors in China trying to tell the truth were silenced to the grave.

And who in the H e l l keeps giving you stars for your talking points

Can you tell me how many US citizens have died to lack of access to a ventilator? Pretty sure it is zero. Have a citation? Or do you still think NY needs 40,000 ventilators?

I'm in the suburbs of Detroit. Most of us are taking quarantine serious. I smoke outside I'm the eyes and ears of the neighborhood. My neighbors cars don't move for days at a time. The roads that were once jammed with cars are now empty. It's like a ghost town out there. No ones going anywhere unless they have too. Except my neighbors across the street their kids aren't taking it serious and they go out all the time. They're putting their parents in danger.

35 days ago we had zero cases. We now have 24,000 cases and people are dropping dead by the hundreds every day. In Michigan 50% of the cases are black people yet they only make up 14% of the population. A lot of Detroiters are illiterate. Half of the inner city can't read at a 3rd grade level. They were gathering at the parks playing basketball and partying. The mayor went around and removed all the hoops at the parks.

Most of us are taking it serious and new infections are dropping. I check the news every day when I wake up to see the new numbers. I'm dying to go fishing. My uncle keeps bugging me to go. I tell him he's not a part of our household and I don't want contact with anyone outside of it.

I believe you. I go out and people refuse to stay six feet away. I've resorted to telling them now.

And I have resorted to telling people like you to calm down. Happened today in my Safeway, which has gone so far as to making "one way" lanes in each of the aisles. I was at the opposite end of the aisle, and a person would literally not let me through because I was not "following the directions". BS. I have been shopping at that specific store for eighteen years, I know where everything is and the fastest way to get to it, and what I was trying to get was at the wrong end on the "one way" sign. She told me, "I had to go back all the way around to get here...", and my response was "no dice". I know what I needed, I knew exactly where it is, and I got it, her little blockade be damned.

I am all for being careful. I am all for being considerate of other people. But, I am not for being told what to do by someone who has bought into the mass hysteria that has gone on for the last four weeks, just because they choose to "follow the rules". The rules, as of right now, are draconian at worst, and ridiculous at best. And, the scariest part is not the virus itself. It is the way we all fell right in line with restrictions/regulations without having a rational, since conversation about it.

It has nothing to do with being a "rebel". It has everything to do with being rational in a situation that deserves to be dealt with with rationality.

We, as a country, are not approaching the problem rationally.

"Try new things"? Like, what? Kowtowing to ridiculous "orders" that do not pass as being realistic/rational/essential?

No, thanks. I'll pass on that.

Yes because you know better than everyone else, right? A rational mind realizes that it's probably a safe bet to side with the experts whose life education and experience revolves around this particular subject matter, and who are advising these types of precautions based on scientific observations, not just their "gut feelings" or a hours worth of reading an article, watching their favorite news pundit report, or a Youtube video.

The irrational one's are those who distrust anything "official" or "authoritative" because of pretty much nothing but a rebellious and/or paranoid mindset. Scientific evidence be damned.

No, thanks. I'll pass on that.

Here in NZ, our quarantine has worked in the 3 weeks its been going (and we shut down our border about a week before the full 4 week level 4 lockdown) and its still ongoing... probably for at least 2 more weeks to be safe.

Peaked about 4 days ago, our new cases per day are dropping by half every day (todays was 18 new cases was around 30ish yesterday), our recovered from infection is increasing by double each day now as well, indicating the spread has gone into full reverse for the most part. 18 i think in hospital at the mo and 4 have died in total (all pretty much hampered by underlying conditions and or high age 70+).

So yeah, our quarantine has worked perfectly as have a few other countries who jumped in quickly and went the same route as we did, sure its rough but hey... we could be like America or Britain, sitting on our hands or doing little to nothing comparatively with rapidly rising death tolls, over worked and stressed health system and an economy that might have long term issues if the pandemic continues for a long time rather than a short but hard hitting bunt to it instead.

So yeah, so much of the BS ive seen posted on ATS over Covid is nuclear level facepalm worthy, and shows the posters of such up as being some pretty # people honestly... I dont think in draconian measures for fighting it personally, I do believe some people at the top will and have taken full on advantage of it... but come on people be realistic and a good human being, the pathetic measures most of America is doing need to be ramped up, and stick your 'But mah Freedoms' to the side for a while for the good of your fellow citizens.

its interesting seeing the sudden rapid invert of recovery to infection this week... definitely on the way to level 2-3 lockdown real soon... just hope the government keep the borders locked down for a bit after wards until the rest of the world gets its # together so we dont get any reinfection.

Given the timing of the flip, it would mean the level 4 was exactly what did it... given the time thats passed since then is roughly the same time covid takes to run its coarse in a person.
