Trudeau says tracking Canadians with their cell phones 'on the table'

The Liberal government says using location tracking technology is not totally off the table, Justin Trudeau said Tuesday.

“I think we recognize that in an emergency situation we need to take certain steps that wouldn’t be taken in a non-emergency situation, but as far as I know that is not a situation we are looking at right now,” he said.

“But … all options are on the table to do what is necessary to keep Canadians safe.”

What a pile of dog 💩. They already been doing this secretly, but they want to make it official so they can use it to begin arresting people. Then, once this crisis is behind us does anyone really think they will stop tracking? Course not. Pros & Cons, a thin red line which will be abused.

Here's my solution. A book should be written, which would probably be in multiple volumes, detailing everything. EVERYTHING.

A copy should be sent to every household in the country. The market should be saturated with it.

They should at least try to get all the data out there. People will be curious.

Supposedly. But have we seen a single indictment unsealed from 2009, or 2015, or 2016?

Was it Q who said sealed indictments stop the clock, or was this something that someone in the media said?

Except 160k sealed indictments stop the clock. There's other ways to override statutory limitations as well, like the method that evidence comes to be known.

Also, I suppose proof that someone was improperly shielded from prosecution in an official matter could overcome a statutory challenge.

UCMJ could be different too, as well as laws from foreign countries who don't recognize limitations.

The Big M for MURDER is a big that's certainly in-play. Statutes for sex crimes have been expanded. Remember, many high crimes are a 6 year statute to begin with.
