May I ask why there would be military tribunals?
For people breaking quarantine or what?

Saw the mention in the other thread and wanted to thank saladfingers123456 for kicking off this thread. Good to try to separate the discussion from the updates.

This virus and ensuing martial law will provide cover for Trump and military leaders to make these arrests

Over 100,000 sealed indictments
Obama is just one of them

I have often wondered if CT's actually believe the things they post ..

For example do you honestly believe that this Virus is going to be the cause of Martial Law?

Many thanks to saladfingers for starting this thread - I will make this my home base from here on.

I mentioned before that I had being trying to persuade housemates to contribute to a month's worth of supplies, but met with blank stares - well things have moved on rapidly, with tonight's TV news virtually all about Corona, and warning at the end that the ghost city that is Rome now could be any major European city tomorrow.

Well, all of a sudden the housemates are suggesting putting £100 each into the kitty and stocking up - exactly what I suggested last week.

I think it is sinking in, and yet how bad must things be behind the scenes that the MSM's presentation of the situation is making the placid and disinterested sit up?

I'm in one of the worst-case scenarios, on an isolated island with 35,000 people, nearly 100% dependent on imported food. Yep as the OP, I'm PC Plod, and I will just remind everyone that at some point in the future if this all gets out of hand, all that mind and time wasting BS of politics and corporate tussling could become totally irrelevant, and that you should start to think about actual human things that matter.

People who think they know what is right for other people are agenda driven. You are a statistic from up on high and their power is derived from you.
I've known billionaires that have been cast aside... honestly, there are better things to use your brain on... especially right now... and you know this.

With everything going on here, just start to think about real things and people that matter to you... the important stuff.

If all this blows over, then it is up to you if you spend time shouting over a fence. But most people discussing this topic are trying to get a handle on the reality of it. Political point scoring is pointless. So please, yes, just let your political slant go for a while and try to think a bit more locally. All this will make more and more sense over the coming weeks, I have no doubt.

The health organisations now also have sweeping powers to quarantine similar to martial law, it's all moving so fast now it's entirely possible .

First Scottish case is about 30 miles from me, at a hospital friends of mine are in and some friends work in.

I'm not worried, I'll wash my hands more often, apparently the majority of people who get it won't even know they had it and the survival rate is about 96%, lots of sensationalism about it in the MSM though, making people panic...

Cool. A general discussion thread. Everything about this virus seems plausibly deniable except for one thing.

Its not effecting children.

I just named a former politician in it

And to answer the question directed to me

Yes, I believe martial law is possible
Whether it’s a reaction if the virus becomes so widespread that it causes panic, which leads to looting and other crimes; or the Trump administration takes advantage of the virus and uses it to declare martial law to arrest those under sealed indictment.
Arresting those under sealed indictment while under martial law will prevent a lot of the negative reaction we would see from the general public to high profile people that they love being arrested.

But that’s like my opinion, man

I sure hope you're right. I could see them using it as cover to make some arrests, but I think there is more going on with this thing than we are being told. Too many things don't make sense, and there are several odd coincidences.

I don' think the US is going to see death numbers near what we see in China, as long as the US Gov doesn't do the things China has done.. but I wouldn't put it past them.

Just saying that locking people in their houses causes cortisol levels to rise, and not to mention likely sustained panic and possible starvation. Spraying a mix of chemicals and bleach everywhere can't be good for people's health, either.

I wonder how many people didn't have the 'virus' but still passed away due to the drastic measures their government took.

Well it's been a while since I was on but seeing as the internet is lighting up with all the crazies I thought this may be the most rational of places to get some information.

I don't really have much to add so I will lurk.

I do work and travel a lot within the UK so if anything pops up I'll be sure to add it.
