Absolutely correct. However you missed a critical point.

China must import food to survive. They need US agriculture or masses of Chinese people starve to death.

Before someone jumps in and says ah-ha the virus will cut the population and they won’t need to rely on US farm products, the amount of people killed by this won’t solve the problem. CCP would need to remove about 500 million people or 1/3 of its population.

Fun fact - when CCP was negotiating with Nixon Administration one of their top 5 wants was for the US to take 10 million women into the US from China to cut their population and birth rate.

You stay safe out there, Musicismagic! (I don't believe you are overhyping, either. And thank you for all the updates!)

Goto Middle East regions, you don’t really see toilet paper there much tbh, it’s mostly wash and dry it

In your purely rational world that may make sense... in the conspiracy world anything is possible!

Iran reports its first two cases of the new coronavirus

en.armradio.am...

Iranian authorities confirmed on Wednesday two cases of the new coronavirus, the first in the country, the semi-official ISNA news agency reported. The report did not elaborate on the nationality of the two people infected. ISNA quoted an official in the country’s health ministry, Kiyanoush Jahanpour, as saying that “since last two days, some suspected cases of the new coronavirus were found.”

Yep, that's kinda why I giggle at stories of people rioting over toilet paper, I guess it's Darwin's law at the end of the day if toilet paper is that high on your priority list at panic stage.

Some certainly don’t, I’ve been in hospital a few times and they can’t even keep it clean, it was quite disgusting actually. Plus add in a lot of people don’t care about hygiene and or whether they pass something on to other people. I’ve just seen that over 4000 people have been tested for the Corona virus in the uk... only 1 case at present as all others have been released.

I find it fascinating that we in the UK have tested over 4000 people but last I checked the US was around 400?

Are we testing people with contacts from S Korra, Japan, Singapore now cos those are the places with daily increases.

TextCoronavirus so far today:
- 20 new cases in South Korea (51 total)
- 10 new cases in Japan (84 total)
- 79 new cases on Diamond Princess (621 total)
- 3 new cases in Singapore (84 total)
- First 2 presumptive cases in Iran
- 1 new case in Hong Kong (63 total)

Agreed, while tongue in cheek, it was one of the points I was hinting at in my scenario... the fact is a whole bunch of things don't add up at the moment because it seems we're not getting honest information, or conflicting information from multiple sources.

Maybe the numbers aren't real but in the other direction, way less than reported, and people are dying from "something else"...

If so, what would that suggest?

I still want to see an interview with someone who was critical but has recovered... strange we haven't seen that yet, no?

This is an interesting find from Twitter.

Apparently a higher up in the CDC texted a friend and said there are over 1000 cases. The guys daughter found and posted it. It looks like the higher up could be Nancy Messonnier CDC Profile

I find that interesting too, that’s a lot of people to test so you might wonder if they all had potential contact with this virus... as always no information as to why they’ve tested that many so we’re left in the dark.

The music sounds like it's from a bad 70s horror movie, for there to be a 1000 cases in the U.S that's a whole lot of people saying nothing....

2000 of those (I think) where the original people being looked for after this started, with an additional 200( I think) being evacuees, the rest would have to be assumed to be contact with mr super spreader and other cases and contacts to those found and traced but at would account for only about half!

Indeed! I’ve just read they have tested 200 already in Scotland,

www.bbc.co.uk...

There’s a massive lack of information on the super spreader and the others here, all we know is he’s recovered and out of hospital... no big deal apparently but then you see this and wonder what’s going on behind the public eye.

There are no recent updates of the World Dream cruise ship that docked in Hong Kong a couple of weeks ago. They let those passengers disembark after only FOUR DAYS. Now we see coronavirus infections popping up more and more there. And, obviously, those photos of people panic- buying toilet paper and other supplies, makes it look like Hong Kong citizens are scared.

Why isn't anyone talking about those passengers? And whatever became of those that were allowed to leave the cruise ship in New Jersey?

The lack of information is maddening...

Everyone thinks our government and media will be different than China's. It seems like everyone believes that our government has each and everyone of our best interest in mind.

It seems to me amd I have believed this for a long time, that The US government is more worried about a panic and a massive market crash than the health and welfare of us citizens.

Remember in their minds we don't need to be told anything. They are using the old HIPAA laws for excuses and who knows what else, not to tell us any updates on the situation.

People think that just because it is China and it's so far away that it isn't a big deal here. But yet if there is k e missile strike in Gaza or the middle east the markets get caught in an uproar. Nevermind that one of the biggest economies is practically shut down and production of many goods and services are all but shut down.

That is the real conundrum. How is it not affecting the world markets?

Travellers from other parts of China and other specified areas
This advice applies to travellers who have returned to the UK from the following areas:

China
Thailand
Japan
Republic of Korea
Hong Kong
Taiwan
Singapore
Malaysia
Macau
If you have returned to the UK from any of these areas in the last 14 days and develop symptoms of cough or fever or shortness of breath, you should immediately:

stay indoors and avoid contact with other people as you would with the flu
call NHS 111 to inform them of your recent travel to the country

Does look like they have measure in place reading the gov site you linked though ( weather people at points of entry know what they are doing or even if they are checking correctly remains questionable based on news reports I’ve seen, eg the guy on the flight from USA who was told to self quarantine after being tested they told sky news (could have been bbc) “he would carry on as normal unless he though he had symptoms *facepalm* tbh should really have been taken to forced quarantine at that point as it is clear from his statement he was going to ignore the advise, which people like that pose the biggest risk to everyone imo
