Over 100 cases have been deducted over the past 2 days. The concerning problem is that authorities do not disclose the no. of symptom-less infected patients after they count them separately. There will be no way of knowing the exact magnitude of the outbreak.

If that isn't paranoia to the MAX, I don't know what is!

It's not just a "few" people saying be cautious, ...it's members who rarely ever post saying this is "the apocalypse"!! Thousands upon thousands of posts. Just look at Volume 1, and now Volume 2...NEVER has anything on ATS garnered so much hype, paranoia and attention! Not EVER!!

You seem like you're the one looking for a reason not to panic. Nobody is acting like this is the end of civilization, they are just sharing how they are preparing in case the situation gets worse. Just look at what is happening in China right now. Does anyone think civilization in China is gone forever?

The only reason for such a post is that deep down you are terrified.

C'mon man. That was a bit over the top. I'm not seeing a single person panic. I'm seeing concerned folks discussing a situation that has caused the largest country on Earth to be all but shut down. I'm seeing a great deal of images and videos come out of China suggesting the numbers they are providing not equating the actions being taken. That's not "sky is falling!" YET, but that is the reality of things right now until this situation becomes clearer. No need to panic over what you perceive others as doing.

People are frustrated with the info not adding up, how it NEVER seems to add up, and in general people are pissed off at constantly being lied too because big bro, whether that be China, WHO or the U.S. government always tell us BS. I'm pretty sure, as a long time well respected member you have a pretty good grasp on this concept.

This is the part that really concerns me because I cannot stock up on prescription medication like I can dry/canned food. I am 56 and live a great life but it's only because I take drugs like Rituximab (infusion), Prednisone (daily), and Methotrexate (weekly) to keep my immune knocked way down so it doesn't keep attacking my organs. Pharmacies just won't give me a year's supply of those kind of drugs. Heck they argue about 90 days worth. Because of my immune system though I learned years ago about the value of hand-washing and no-contact with escalator rails, elevator buttons, shaking hands, etc and I'm rarely ever sick. (and, to add to the fun, you cannot just stop taking Prednisone after years and years of being on it...it's a very concerning thought if it comes to point of not being able to get it suddenly).

What people should be upset about is the incredible human rights abuses as a result of this hysteria! People imprisoned on ships, millions of people who can't move, pinned down in their houses...all over a bug which is basically the flu!

It’s a fluid situation, hence the frequent updates and comments in this thread
We’ve talked about everything from where or how it originated, actions being taken my government bodies, how quarantines are being implemented, mode of transmission, safeguards, being prepared (which is a good general knowledge for any situation) how the numbers are being reported etc etc etc it’s not all doom and gloom panic
Every big news topics have tons of threads. Right now this one is bringing out all types of commenters. I registered today because of this thread as working in this field prompts my curiosity, I’ve only lurked before

Don't know if I've seen people saying this is the apocalypse, its actually been a pretty good thread.
Whats happening is unprecedented, people want to stay alert and updated.

It seems like your the one that needs to chill out brother. This is like the fukushima thread. People want to help get info out there and try and figure out what the hell is going on. If you don't like it, its not hard to stay out of the thread. Just like others are probably coming here to get away from all of the political threads.

I've read most of both of these threads and haven't seen anyone cry out its the end of the world. There may be people preparing for it, but they are just providing good info for others if that time comes.
