The man who got the shooter was a former FBI agent who was hired to be armed security by the church, but there were also several parishoners who had their weapons too and had them drawn. The whole incident took about 2.5 seconds. The host that took the gunman down did so in the time it took him to point his weapon at the congregation as a whole.

Why would a Church hire armed security? And a lot of people were packing. Sounds like they were aware something was going to happen.

You don't recall the very, very deadly mass church shooting that took place in Texas not so long ago in Sutherland Springs where 26 were killed and 20 wounded? It was about 2 years or so ago.

A gun is inanimate, with no will, unless the will comes from the hand of a human. A bullet is inanimate, with no will, unless it travels from the gun due to the will of a human. A human is an inanimate object, with no will, once the bullet has met its mark.

A bullet or gun in a drawer is harmless. It isn't harmless if a person takes hold of it. You need all the parts to make the danger. If we eliminate the guns, it will eliminate their danger, or, if we eliminate all humans, it will eliminate their danger.

Which is your choice?

The USA having nukes stops Russia from using them

I never suggested that everyone should have restricted access to firearms, Just the general public.

And, in case you haven't noticed, the usual punishment for a rapist, mugger or thief does not involve a firearm.

Arming everyone gives advantage to the criminal, who intend harm from the very the outset. In fact, the possession of a firearm without a rational, and legal, reason for it's use, probably indicates criminal intent.

Sometimes it indicates criminal intent.

Sometimes it’s just because people think guns are cool. Which, they are I guess. Like swords and jets and throwing stars.

A mugger, rapist or thief doesn’t get to mug, rape or steal when their intended victim has a gun. Even if the criminal is armed too. They usually still do not get to commit their crime.

Much to the dismay of the left.

The general public in the United States has the inalienable right to have and own firearms
