Church of Christ Shooting: 2 Dead, 1 Critical In White Settlement, Texas

Two people have been killed, and on critically injured after a shooting took place at the West Freeway Church of Christ located in Texas.

MedStar spokeswoman Macara Trusty confirmed that one person died at the scene of the shooting, and one person died en route to a hospital. A third victim was transported to a hospital in critical condition.

WFAA-TV Reporter Jason Whitely tweeted, “Video shows a man enters the sanctuary with a rifle and fired three shots.”

I see no one talking about the mass stabbing at the Orthodox Jewish rabbi's Hannukah party in New York last night.

There were five there. It was all over Fox, but as the suspect was apparently an African-American, I can see where it might have slipped the notice of the other networks for not fitting the narrative on anti-Semitism they prefer.

But yes, attacks on the religious are on the rise, and it's disturbing.

If firearms were illegal, say like illegal drugs, then nobody would have them...

We could be like Mexico where the citizens do not have firearms and we can see how well that is working

ATF and Fort Worth Fire Department reported to the scene, and the White Settlement Police are getting witness statements. A witness told CBS 11 News the gunman shot someone with a shotgun during communion and that he was then taken down by another church member with a gun.

So a shotgun was used for the crime, and a handgun was used to stop it from getting worse. I bet that certain politicians are going to cry about "Assault Rifles" needing to be banned over this event.

It's horrid that this had to happen, as well as the recent stout of attacks at other religious sites in recent days. If any good can come out of this, it's that at least in this event it can be shown that a law abiding citizen that is armed can limit the tragic scale of these events. Still though going after people like this is just pathetic, I mean what next shooting up the local library?

On the evening on December 28, five people were stabbed by a machete-wielding attacker, who was later identified as Grafton Thomas, near a New York synagogue. Grafton entered a Monsey, New York, rabbi’s home during Hanukkah celebrations on Saturday, authorities said. The synagogue, known as Rabbi Rottenburg’s shul, is located on Forshay Road in Rockland County, New York. The suspect was later arrested in New York City after fleeing from the scene.

The problem is that of the two attacks referenced, one was carried out with a knife. It was a mass stabbing. The only common reference point linking the two was they were against religious folks.

Banning guns would not have saved the Orthodox Jews. They were stabbed ... unless of course, you know, they were stabbed by one of those chain bayonettes.

I haven't said anything because I truly do not know what happened, but one of the churches up the road from where I live *had* a very nice brick sign and marquis. I say had because right around Christmas time, it was destroyed along with their Nativity. I don't know what happened. It *could* have been an accident, but it could also have been vandalism. These days you cannot default to accident like you used to.

I couldn't believe there wasn't one. Usually ATS is all over a mass attack.

Why compare to what is just about 3rd world? you want to compare, try Canada, or others.

Anyway, a moot point, it's too late..I just think it's intellectually dishonest.
