The police here aren't enforcing it. They're expecting people to do the right thing. Given their line of work they should know better. The garage sale site for here on facebook is still up and running. People are still selling stuff and meeting up like it's business as usual. Freecycle, at least, cut off posts on anything but essential stuff like cleaning products and had instructions on how to drop off/pick up items so you're not in contact with anyone. The garage sale site has nothing at all. Still lots of traffic on the streets too. The longer this keeps up, the longer vacation will be because the cooties will spread.

Just checking in and hoping everyone is okay and not too stir crazy from the isolation (although some folks rather enjoy it LOL).

All is good here, work is super busy and that is great. Not sure how long term the boom will be, but it is welcome for now.

Miss you all! Back to work...

The only problem is that most people find it difficult to step from one circle to the next as far as they are spaced out.

That's terrible. What I do is take 2 to 3 steps between the markers. In the shops where I am they have lines or x's where you move to after someone else is served. If they expect you to take one step from circle to circle in your pic I'd be telling them where to go. Older people aren't athletes.

My goodness LookingForABetterLife, I'd be complaining..

Look after yourself,

Bally

I tried doing the bunny hop from one circle to the next but people looked at me funny and told me to just walk normally. That worked out pretty good as I kept my distance from others and didn't run into anyone.

Skido,

Read what I just posted above as it turned out I just had to walk normally.

Hope your Mom is ok Blue. I'll get to your messages later. Have some e-mails and vids to get to and I'm tired.

Stay safe!

Other than what Dad did during the appointment (I'll explain that in a bit) Mom came through okay.

The issue with her legs swelling was caused by the blood pressure medicine she started when she went to the ER some time ago. So her primary doctor is weening her off of that and trying a different med.

In today's "Adventures of Living With a Stupid Dad" we find my dad taking my mom for her doctor's appointment.

All's good so far, right? Keep in mind that since his head injury (or maybe before) dad thinks he is the king of the world. This means he can do what he pleases and is right about everything.

Unfortunately his way of thinking does not apply in a Covid 19 world. Dad drops Mom off at the doctor's office and heads to the grocery store to go to the pharmacy. He parks on the south side of the parking lot by the pharmacy planning on going in there. What he does't understand is that stores are limiting the number of people allowed in at one time. Therefore the southern most entrance was locked. He tries plan B. That of going in the middle entrance, which is really the exit. As there is security there and everywhere else these days they tell him he can't enter there. They tell him to stand in line with everyone else and go in the northern most entrance. As I wasn't with him all I can do is guess at the outcome but I think he must have made a fool of himself possibly yelling at people as he is the king and can do what he pleases.

He eventually goes in and takes care of why he's there then proceeds back to Mom's appointment. As he is king and a control freak he insisted on going in back to the examining room with Mom. Well that isn't going to work as the rooms to the doctor's office are locked up as much as prison, allowing only those who need to be there to actually be there. They told him he can't go back there with her of course. His argument for going with her is that "she is not all there". The sad thing is that he is the one that is not all there and then some.

So Dad is locked out of exam room standing there banging on the door with his cane and yelling. One of the nurses there just happens to be one of the 2-3 people in the world that Dad actually likes. She calms him down somewhat to avoid having to have the police called on him (darn). What does he do then? He comes home. He is unusually quiet so I didn't know here was here. First time that has ever happened. I get a phone call from one of Mom's nurses telling me what happened and that I needed to come get her. I put on my shoes and do so while Dad's at home "busy" on his computer. Guess he was telling everyone on Facebook about how bad the world is treating him now.

With Dad's broken brain, which he is actually proud of for some reason, I don't think he learned any lesson from this today. Time well tell.

FYI, Dad's primary doctor is in the same office so perhaps she will have some suggestions to Dad as to getting himself together the next time he see her.

Blue please forgive me, I know it is tragic and not fun at all, but dang that was very well written. You gave me a good giggle, thank you.

I can see him "scolding" the south entrance as a naughty subordinate, having a rage at guards for their mutiny and then bringing curses down on the rebellious nurses and aides with his magical wand, that fails to open the door.

WIS, you are forgiven of course. Things that go on in the real world are so stupid that I have to insert humor into this in order to get by. I can see (not that I want to) Dad "scolding" the entrance wearing only a long king's robe and a crown that is 3 times too big for him making a fool of himself.

I am one of them. I can still go to state natural areas (unless I assemble with 10 or more and keep a safe distance)

I literally never meet people, an occasional footprint, so I am safe.
And the best part is it so blissfully quit in the evening. No loud monster trucks or ATV's, just birds and my own breathing.

Miss you all!
Miss you too, don't work to hard. Love the mallards

Such pretty flowers I forget there name, perhaps because I never had the patience to grow them. They are rather fragile.

I wrote a long reply, reconsidered. Perhaps not the place for it. Just a big hug all around.

Too sore and tired to reply to everyone at the moment. Just threw some stars around.

Rhode Island is stopping anyone from New York and making them self quarantine. BUT... then I see where Women from New York are giving birth at the Women And Infants Hospital here. It's utter chaos. The stories I'm hearing, the news, the whole damned thing. People with cancer aren't getting operations, I'm hunkering down and not stepping a foot out the door for at least a couple of weeks.

My dear friend Linda and her Husband insisted on buying us two weeks of groceries. I didn't want them to do that. Linda had to go somewhere and on the she stopped at her Husband's shop. She had him come over and talk to me and he absolutely insisted that I allow them to do that. He said they had the money and could afford it and wanted Mark and I to be set for a couple of weeks at least.
I'm so grateful to have chosen such great friends. I don't have many friends by choice and the ones I have are Angels.

I'm still seeing kids in grocery stores. Like, keep the little ones at home!

Been exhausted answering calls from Docs and nurses for Mark, making appointments, cooking, checking on him to make sure he's taking his pills right and eating and feeling ok...When he gets up before 5 AM for dialysis 3 times a week, that sometimes wakes me up. When he gets back and it's still early, that wakes me up. It's like I snooze when I can.

The virus has hit bordering cities so I figure it must have hit mine by now or will soon. And people from New York are desperate and keep coming here. Sorry, I needed to get these things off my chest. I don't want us to end up like other places that don't have enough beds and things they need at Hospitals and for their staff and patients.

I love you all so very much much. I'll try not to be a Debbie downer tomorrow. I need some rest...desperately.

I hope you get your much needed rest!

RI Police, National Guard, stopping people...

Mrs NIght Star, my heart goes out to you as I see how crazy the world is getting. BTW, the photo in the attached thread is fake, from an exercise a few years ago.

My point is I know how it is to have your life taken away as a spouce and becoming a 24/7 nurse maid instead. As I never knew when Janey would be sleeping I slept in a living room recliner for her last two years.

I see how adding the Covid to all of this just makes things worse.

Hugs to you and everyone else.

How is your Country doing Fin? How are YOU?

This is parts of the post i made elsewhere this morning:

-By 9.30 on the 27 March, a total of 1,025 laboratory-confirmed cases of the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been diagnosed in Finland.

-There have been seven deaths in Finland that have been determined to have resulted from the coronavirus. Six of these deaths have happened in the Helsinki University Hospital catchment area and one in the Tampere University Hospital catchment area.

-Starting 27 March, the Government will also restrict traffic and movement between the Uusimaa region and Finland’s other regions. The Government Decree on the use of powers laid down in the Emergency Powers Act was submitted to the Parliament for discussion on 25 March. The Decree is currently being discussed by Parliament. The restrictions will be in force until 19 April 2020.

Source: Finnish institute for health and welfare

Since it is a little over 2 am now, the numbers are probably a bit higher. Uusimaa is the region where our capital city, Helsinki, is. I am not in that region. But i can't, let's say take a bus and travel to Helsinki to see my friends who live there. Because the police and the army are blocking the roads.

How am i? Worried about mom of course. She is elderly and fragile. And i miss her and i love her. It was that way already before the corona pandemic. I can't sleep so i came to the Shed.

I belong to corona risk group due to asthma. Ran out of asthma meds. Smoking tobacco all the time. It is what it is.
