The American Civil War of 2005 as predicted by John Titor

Anyone see the DEC (maybe Jan- don't have it here in front of me) issue of popular science and the NEW experiment now being set up at CERN of all places?

Too bad I was not able to find a link to an electronic version.

In regards to CERN and MINI black holes What's-his-face was pretty darn specific but people still claim he was purposely vague on everything. I am wondering just how many times and how closely they actually read all of his stuff? Me thinks they were already predisposed to him being a quack (which personally for me the jury is still out on) some stuff he tells you outright is vague other is just way to darn specific to totally discount him especially when BAM almost daily we get slapped up side the head with the very specific- very detailed things that defies logic of him knowing in 2001ish.

I see a post here decrying vagueness and grainy-ness of the manuals. Well duh- if we discount stuff let us do it for a VALID reason. (yup I think there are tons of them out there- just poor examples from everyone- the more superior they think they are the worse the examples)

Lets see his 'material' the topic only:
#1 what year was it when what's his face was posting this stuff??? Like 2001 or something???
hmmm. What kinds of quality scanners were available around then? not too bad IN 2001- I mean I had the VERY best money could buy- better than even the university I graduated from in its labs getting funded with government money- but extremely pathetic compared to imaging technology today. Oh yeah sure it would have made a pretty good picture. But, honestly, is it rational to expect they were available EVERYWHERE then???? uh H E double toothpicks NO! What was the DPI (even interpolated) your AVERAGE Joe had in 2001? I'll bet ya the one your average Joe had wasn't made IN 2001! And I'll be ya they didn't pay over $1200 US for it. therefore DPI was somewhat limited.

#2 How about bandwidth available then to your "average folk" and along the same lines- the SIZE of files allowed to be posted on BBS's then? (oh what of NOW on even THIS big ol site -- what is the limit on size??)

#3 What kind of image compression files where common at the time period? What kind of image would they support and at what cost to bandwidth and image file size? What WAS the effect of zipping files then??

#4 Any of the complainers on the quality of the scans seen an actually military field manual recently?? I mean, even one published since 2001?PAAAAAH LEASE take however long it takes to get your rear into a surplus store and pick up any one of the manuals currently available there. Then talk to me about graininess. I AM military NOW and I live with this caca daily. Now IFFFF what what's his face says is true- what kind of quality would we expect a post-apocalyptic world to have taken on reproduction of a field manual EVEN when we don't do that now??? If bike tires are hard to get how many XEROX machines do you think arein good repair?(A better question would be: what is a post apocalyptic world doing making mini black holes when it takes a seven mile across super-collider- now- for things lasting microns of a second?)

#5 If What's his face REALLY were who he said he was - where do you think he would have gotten access the equipment he was posting from? Did he tote supper modern equipment back in time with him simply to post on message boards so YOU could have perfect pictures? I wouldn't suspect so- I bet ya he used some PUBLIC equipment- not known for being particularly 'new', Fast, or well maintained- let alone loaded with the most current software or even a good selection of software from which to work.

#6 What kind of weirdo would take the time to dream up and put together that kind of detailed images and graphics only to be around such a short period and never pull it out again. Ok I understand we have the complete schematics with cut-aways to the Sci-Fi Star Wars and Star trek series ships in the most amazing detail, full gloss, color pictures. but these are turned out by tons of collaborators over extreme long periods of time and by-the-way anyone know how many are out there??????? And how much revenue it generates???? with a tale as great as What's his face's WHY ISN'T THERE ANY NEW MATERIAL????? Star Trek- pahhhhhlease? poor story folks lacking even imagination of their own.

#7 The "story" was complete and all details intact- including the grainy photos- BEFORE what's his face made the first post. None of the 'details' could have been put together on the short time between his postings. Any of you so called 'expert' myth busters have a better source with the time stamps on the questions he got and how quick he replied back with his evidence???? so far the stuff, even the links, here do not contain the day/time stamps- so unless What's-his-face was playing the parts of MANY persons to ask and answer his own questions- this is a very serious quandary to solve and one more reason his story remains intriguing.

So all you experts out there saying What's-his-face is bunk- I can believe that- BUT if you are going to tell other folks to DENY IGNORANCE before posting first take the planks out of you own eye. Just like the moon landing arguments (I work in the military Space program and believe we went there) there are some good questions asked by those thought of as nuts that are always answered the same way by some very adamant folks, "get over it- your question is bunk"- why not just answer the questions if it is not too much trouble??? Why are YOU so adamant or it is soooooo important to convince these folks we DID go there - if you don't have FIRST HAND knowledge??? What is your agenda??? -same points/questions for What's-his-faces claims. What makes YOU qualified to say anything beyond a statement that begins "i believe . . . . . "

Now, can we FINALLY get to a rational discussion after 90+ pages of little kiddy, ignorance filled banter from both sides, including a lot of self-proclaimed experts, who I genuinely feel barely digested half of the material let alone RESEARCHED any claims or probably made it all the way through high school yet??

Put them all in sequential order and run through them all. I'm sure the "laughable" pictures you will find are not at all that "blurry or distorted". And if you take a little bit of time to analyse what I have already brought to notice, I am sure that you will be very interested to "see more" that is in preparation.

And if you still wonder why I'm on JOHN TITOR's string, well to tell you the truth, I'm even more than astonished that from all the funny, weird and unbelievable stuff I have ever come across in about 40 years of study, that ATS has dedicated and allowed itself to have it on it's site. I always had the tendency to believe ATS is concerned with "real and serious" subjects.

Do you realize that this one topic has all the potential to discredit ATS as a host of hoaxers and therefore discredit their owners as supporters of "false and misleading" information? I mean, he wasn't even the first one going to those sites claiming to be a time traveler. He was just the only one the mods worked with.
As far as his story being complete. That is far from the truth. He story has many many holes, alot of which have been discussed in this thread.
The fact that he claims to be one of the good guys makes the story more laughable. I mean, they can hardly get printers to work in their time, yet he's using the people's energy, power, electricity, and resources to test, create, and use time machines for nothing? Come on now.

300dpi 24-bit RBG scanners were cheap, under $200.

Broadband cable modem use was about 27% at the time. ATS favored broadband users even then, with a board home page at about 90k total weight.

What kind of image compression files where common at the time period?

Photoshop LE came with those $200 scanners. It had fairly good JPEG compression and "optimize for web" features.

Peter Paul was given a warn by me a few days back for the above post in which he called one of our supermoderators a traitor simply because they made a mistake while trying to clean up another member's post which contained inappropriate language.

No one has "targeted" anyone. When you call one of the moderators on this board a traitor, you get a warn. It's about that simple.

The owners of this board have neither the time nor the inclination to try to keep up with every warn issued. Thus, I'm betting SO didn't even know this had occurred.

Mystery solved. - Back to the topic, which if I remember right is not peterpaul, but John Titor.
