Until everyone learns that there is only one race.
THE HUMAN RACE
You mean "species".
We are all one species.
However, doesn't the phenotypic differences we see across several human "groups" count for something and separates human into identifiable groups (e.g. skin colour).
(Or is there a hint of sarcasm in your post?)

Transgenderism has been acknowledged by society for pretty much the entirety of its existence.

That depends on what you mean by 'acknowledged'...
Neither I, nor anyone I know, nor the real scientific community, acknowledge 'transgenderism' as anything other than a mental illness.
None of us acknowledge it as a reality... meaning, none of us accept that a man can become a woman or vice versa.
So, the OP contained a false premise...

By the way, if you're worried that black people are suddenly going to want to be white then you must also acknowledge that there is a clear disparity between the way whites and blacks are treated in society.

Why shouldn't we use race and species interchangeably?
If we were talking about cats do you think a black cat is a different race than a white cat?
The funny thing is that the concept of race is more established in fantasy literature (where it is equivalent with species) than it is in biology.

At best that is a gross mischaracterization of ornithology. Different birds fill different ecological niches to be certain, and some who occupy the same stratum segregate because of food competition and bird wiring re: parenting.
Human's aren't bird-brained regardless. As a general rule.
