As "Transgenderism" has been accepted, will you all also accept "transracialism"?

Just gauging the feeling here, but it would appear that the overall feeling amongst the public (in the Western World at least) is "live and let live" or "whatever makes you happy" or "as long as they're not harming me or pushing things down my throat" or - and this is a popular one - "WHO CARES".

Okay, so, let us say that in five years time, "transracialism" starts "trending" and being pushed in the media:

It's 2025 and NBC is doing an interview with a trans-Black man (a chap who was born ethnically Han Chinese and has made lots of effort to change himself physically). Sky News Australia does a news special on a trans-white dude (a chap who was born ethnically Japanese and has made lots of effort to physically make himself look "white European") and so on and so forth.

***Would your responses to this new "trend" of "transracialism" be the same as they are/were with "transgenderism" (whatever they are)?

(EDIT: Some may call Michael Jackson "transracial", even with the supposed alleged "lightbulb incident" and/or alleged Vitiligo condition.)

Thoughts

It’s silly but people should be free to do what they want as long as it doesn’t effect others or harm others. Would I ever consider a Chinese man to be a black man? No. I wouldn’t wine about it though.

Transgenderism has been acknowledged by society for pretty much the entirety of its existence. Transracialism, not so much.

By the way, if you're worried that black people are suddenly going to want to be white then you must also acknowledge that there is a clear disparity between the way whites and blacks are treated in society.

The issue isn't whether or not someone identifies as whatever (gay, trans, bi, attack helicopter) it's the WAY they go about it. They introduce themselves AS this identity. The problem with that is that well-adjusted intelligent people know they are much more than their preferences. It's only the very shallow, attention-seeking and the immature who conflate the totality of who they are with what they prefer.

Kids and easily-influenced adults have always emulated the rich "celebrity" culture and that culture is FILLED with attention-seeking immature people. These are the people who began the trend of introducing themselves as their preferences.

Intelligent, mature people reject attention-seeking immature people and call them out as what they are. It used to be an unwritten rule that what you did behind closed doors was your business only, then the internet made that crap public knowledge and now we have what we have.

Blacks want to be white... straightening hair, skin lightener, etc.

Whites want to be black.... tanning, lip and butt injections, and making their hair kinky.

If a man can feel like a woman and that be acceptable I dont see the difference.

I'm already transracial. As a person of Italian ancestry I always mark down 'African American' when the choice is available.

If they give me any crap I direct them to the Dennis Hopper monologue from True Romance and tell them to shut their mouth.

The issue is that it creates a slippery slope. I'm in my mid 40s. I've always seen drag queens/transgenders. We knew of them, but they were in no way mainstream. Just some weirdos and that was the end of it.

The issue now is that they are attempting to normalize abnormal behavior and make it mainstream. Personally, I don't care what people do behidn closed doors. However, that doesn't mean I want a trans guy reading Wheels on the Bus to my toddler at the library in full drag.

If someone who is clearly a man physically can claim they are a woman, then there is nothing stopping someone from claiming they are a different race. I mean Eminem can claim he is black.... heck, we already claim him anyway.

The issue much like in sports now with men claiming to women dominating sports, you will find more people claiming to be a different race to get any benefits conferred much like Liz Warren.

To expound on my previous post, there are clear physiological differences between the male and female brain. The same does not hold true between races.

A white man's brain is likely to be just as similar to a black man's brain as it is a white man's brain.

Nature is not 100% perfect. So why does it surprise people so much that a man could have a brain closer to a woman's and vice versa?

It doesn't surprise me. I question though the numbers of people who truly are afflicted....

I can concede there are some people who might get their wires crossed. However, I also believe many do it out of being fashionable as well....
