He's the only one with a shot, he would've beat Trump last time if it was a fair election.

What ideas has he gotten through Congress to help average Americans though? Anyone can vote no, but a future president has to have ideas and be influential enough to get those ideas passed in Congress.

You want me to argue for a presidential position I don't agree with?

I love Ron Paul but he wasn't very effective either.

So are we saying someone like Susan Collins or Klobachar are the prime candidates since they actually pass bipartisan bills regularly?

If that is the case I may agree.

You don't have to argue for him. I was asking generic questions to the OP and you chimed in. All I'm getting at is even his own party thinks he is pretty ineffective as a politician. Just 40 years of no real achievements other than getting elected.

How about we start off with something simple. What has Bernie Sanders done that has benefitted the average American during his almost 40 years of being a politician?

He has authored 3 approved bills in that span. Two were name changes to Post Offices. That's one hell of a distinguished career. I bet people who visit those post offices think wow, if not for Bernie they would still be called lame names nobody cared about and probably just call them post offices.

His constituents obviously disagree. Vermont has 600k people mostly rural farm land. He was mayor of Burlington and revived the entire downtown lake area to one of the countries most beautiful cities...

But yeah you can argue he is just a career politician and I wouldn't disagree. He is just less on the books than many other lifers.

People often miss the purpose of people willing to go against the grain to at least create debate.

Andrew Yang is the most important candidate and his policies are more important as a debate tool than creating verbatim in reality.

By your measure Klobachar would be a shoe in best candidate. Her bipartisan record is nearly un rivaled and certainly is as a candidate.

“Inject our children with crap”. I hoping that’s not a literal statement, but could you elaborate on what you’re saying?

40 years though. That is a long long time of really doing next to nothing for someone that has all these amazing ideas. He put more effort into writing a book for personal gain than authoring meaningful legislation. Could you imagine if he put that energy into a great bill to help people? Kinda looks like he said forget that nonsense.

The number of bills he authored is the same as the number of houses he owns; 3. Maybe that's how he rewards himself. Get a bill passed and treat yourself to a new house.

Socialism is not scary when you have classical liberals and fiscal conservatives to help balance out ideas and guide towards what is practical and what is not.

LOL!

There's nothing practical or fiscally conservative about socialism.

Anyone trying to provide health care for illegal immigrants is just anti-American with no common sense whatsoever.

I disagree since it's nearly impossible to find a great bill that has passed..

Can you name a single successful fiscally responsible Republican who is is successful restraining growth and deficit spending?

Is it still important to have a discussion or should we just come to terms there are no alternatives to redistribution of wealth?

If anything the Republicans are behind on understanding the tech market and future. I really wish that wasn't the case because we need them..

That is what capitalists said when socialists made sure people couldn't be forced to work overtime or be fired, had no weekends off, had kids in coal mines, women couldn't have bank accounts etc...

Know your history.

Now here is the truly scary part..point to a fiscal conservative...point to someone protecting individual rights.....you get maybe 2 people tops.

Haha no not literal. Liberal states are moving towards mandatory vaccinations. They’ve already removed exemptions. Bernie would do worse.

Are you serious. He was not in public office. How could he possibly author a bill. All I am asking is for Bernie supporters to look in the mirror and honestly ask themselves what has the man done in office meaningful for that long of a career in politics. If changing the names of post offices is a major accomplishment then there you go.

Could you give me examples of what you consider good work and good bills?

Or is passing garbage a good thing?

Before those kookie socialists got to Roosevelt...corporations literally had private armies.

Folks society isnt an ism. Bernie is stuck in a trap himself because of this.

Problems arise and its great when different opinions can be civil and build a consensus for the greater good...

Protecting the rights of others is a far cry from providing health care and college for everyone.

Every country on the planet has a deficit that is growing except for a couple of Island countries. It's not a real problem. It's only a problem for people and their own personal finances.

There is an alternative for redistribution of wealth. Provide a service people value and they will give you some of their personal wealth for that service. If the service is not that valuable they won't give you much of their personal wealth. It's really that simple.

Its debatable is the problem but you don't know this because you have followed a narrative.

We have a massive mental health problem and suicide rate...declining our actual life expectancy....and we have a very fast changing economy do to unbelievable advancements. Truly unbelievable stuff is happening like science fiction books. Reprogramming Genes in adults with crispr to cure a form of genetic blindness is not from star trek anymore...

Primary and high school were literally created through the labor movement to train farm culture into factory work. This was a socialist movement.

With that said it needs very tight restraints and we have none. So I am also fearful but for a totally different reason.
