4:00 PM PT -- Chicago PD confirms to TMZ Jussie told them, in a follow-up interview, about the attackers yelling, "MAGA country."
They add Jussie still had the rope around his neck when he made contact with cops at 2:42 AM. Remember, the attack happened around 2 AM.

Attack happened at 2am - contact w police at 242am noose still on his neck... just playing armchair detective but you're right it doesn't add up. this story is still developing and will be very interesting to see where it leads.

That is a fairly upscale area right off Michigan avenue. I have a hard time believing what he claimed happened over there even at 2am. And yes, there are cameras everywhere so unless he was in a dark alley, there should be some video evidence.

My guess he was in a dark alley and he was getting his butt beat but in a different way... hence the story he made up.

Nah, those temps are just starting tonight. It is about -6 right now. It was actually about 30 degrees yesterday.

I've stayed in that area for business......it's nice. I wouldn't think there would be that kind of thing going down there. I remember walking around very late in the Summer with my wife and I wasn't worried and I grew up in Detroit. Chicago has some really great areas. I remember commented to her how many cameras there were in Chicago.

Oh imagine that, the entire cast came out for HRC - shocking hellogiggles.com...

Read the account of the attack on BBC earlier and my first thoughts were it was complete bull#. It's to clichéd and planned. I would be very surprised if this incident checks out.

I knew better than to give anything from Gateway Pundit a click, but I wanted to see where they got the MAGA thing. I had seen this reported today multiple times on TV, both from the MSM and local news, and there was no mention of anything MAGA related on any tv report that I saw. They were reporting on this happening nationally before anything MAGA related had been revealed.

Now in the time since this happened, the Chicago PD has come back and said that in a supplementary interview he did mention the hats and stuff. Chicago PD has also confirmed that they have video of Smollett in the area at the time he claimed this happening. They are searching for surveillance footage that could exist of the incident.

I know if I was attacked and had a noose placed around my neck, the very first thing I would do is remove the noose! There is no way that any sane person would leave a noose on their neck. This action not taken screams hoax!

Exactly what I'm thinking. It's basically an involuntary reflex, he's going to immediately take off the noose as soon as he can. The only way it's still there an hour later is if Smollett wants it to be there.

I'm sticking to my guns. This is all way too "Hollywood" to pass the smell test.
