bauplan is not too far off from what I've been expecting from a 6th gen from the US.

Not strictly a 6th gen, but the Indian AMCA has reached the next design phase:

Assuming that's the final shape.

Brits are leading the way (funding wise at least) with the GCAP:

Sounds like they are following on from what the USA is trying to achieve and have an integrated system for sharing across its whole range of assets.

Perhaps. GCAP is - IMNSHO - a 6th gen fighter without the entanglements of the US export rules. People love many things about Americans. Our bureaucrats and politician driven foreign policy flipflops are not among them.

Word going around is that the F/A-XX is going to be a big bastard as we expected.

She should be quite big then:

The C-130 was the largest/heaviest bird, iirc, to land on a carrier deck. The F-111B and A-3 were the two largest combat aircraft if I recall correctly.

I've been saying something between the F-111 to B-58 for the NGAD size. If the F/A-XX is in that ballpark, it's gonna be a big beautiful bomber, ahem, fighter.

The UK is denying Saudi Arabia is joining GCAP:

A nominal buy of 200 NGAD? It seems more like modeling ideas for how to pair the loyal wingmen, but...200 NGAD would be a bit better than a 1:1 replacement of the F-22.
