That would likely go to the SCotUS and likely shot down, no pun intended.

The 2a has already been there numerous times.

It's part and parcel of the country.

It's actually the FOUNDATION of this country!

Could be they are trying to be reporters instead of opinion / editorial writers.

If PTSD is seen as a serious mental health issue then may be it should prevent a person from possessing a firearm.

Of course we know that isn't going to happen.

Well put it this way, Trump wants to curb the birth citizenship right in the constitution because it doesn't make sense in our Era.

But the 2nd amendment was for a specific threat during a specific period in American history.

There's no threats of rogue colony settlers siding with the crown as far as I can tell for the last 200 years.

You idiocy is alarming

Meanwhile, back at the topic, Heavy has had this up for an hour already:

Ian Long has been identified as the black-clad ex-Marine with mental health troubles who opened fire at a crowded college bar in Thousand Oaks, California, killing at least 12 and wounding many more, in a horrific scene in which people hid in bathrooms and smashed windows to try to escape.

...

1. The Shooter Was a Former Marine With a Recent Mental Health Eval for Acting ‘Irate’ at His Home
2. Ian David Long Was a Dodgers Fan Who Lived With His Mother
3. A Witness Said the Shooter, Who Used a .45 Caliber Handgun, Had ‘Perfect Form’ & Reloaded Quickly
4. Ian Long’s Motive Is Not Yet Known & Some People in the Bar Survived the Las Vegas Mass Shooting
5. The Shooting Happened During a College Night With Hundreds of Students in the Bar

Ian Long: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know

How does Heavy go about it's research and why does it seem that they always have such fully fleshed out articles so quickly after any major event?

Surprisingly, he could have use a knife, a bat, a chair or a roll of toilet paper to wreak havoc, because guns don't kill people.

But somehow he chose the one thing designed to do one thing and one thing only...

If guns kill people why do they send people to war with the guns?

Why not just send the guns?

What gun legislation would have prevented this?

CA has:
Universal BG checks
-May Issue
-Mag limits (I think it is 10)
-Registration and ban of semi-automatic rifles that have certain features
-Waiting periods
-I also heard that you have to buy ammo at a FFL (is that actually true)?

Also - the police did a wellness check on the guy, and then they determined not to utilize a law on the books that temporarily removes weapons from the scene or home of someone until further evaluated for mental health...

Perhaps, but if so then why make a point to include this bit:

The white male from California died of a gunshot wound at the scene. According to NBC News, the shooter drove his mother’s vehicle to the bar.

Indeed, he could have used any number of other items to cause physical injury and or death. Why does it matter what object was used? Would people have been any less dead had he used say a vehicle or a baseball bat?

He could have used an ar 15 as well

I thought “assault rifles “ were the problem?

So now will the gun grabbers be honest and admit they want to take away hand guns as well?

Who cares? Who honestly cares if the shooter killed 12 people or 120 people or 1.2 million people. It doesn't matter. Owning guns is more important that any amount of lives. Even folks like you and me deserve to die so that US citizens can easily acquire guns.

You guys were just crying about the constitution and freedom of the press.

Why do you think only parts you like about the constitution should be law?

I get so tired of that lie.

I've been to plenty of gun shows and they are strict about background checks and documentation.

Local junk yard around here

I drove a 92 ford tempo i night for 80 dollars

It was more than capable of harming people

And besides, your argument is now about price?

So it’s ok for millions of people to die for your convenience because cars cost more than guns?

Can't prove it at the moment, but I think they've already telegraphed the desire to ban the semi-automatic handguns. Although I confess most of the gun grabbers don't understand the difference between wheel guns and magazine fed semi-automatics.

This does not "keep happening" . A mass shooting is one of the rarest forms of homicide In America. That is why the non independent media has to cover them like a special election Everytime, or they would be unable to fill people with fear. If I am being brutally honest, most Americans do not care about an isolated incident of violence perpetuated by one human onto others. I don't care about this incident and neither do many of the lying hypocrites in this thread feigning crocodile tears on the internet.

But do tell, what is the plan to stop murderous intent in humans that has existed since we started bashing each other's brains in with stones?? The real deadly weapon used in every homicide ever is never the tool. It is the intent that every human is capable of possessing. Murderous intent in the mind of a human (demon?) Has always been the only real weapon deployed. The tools were just what is convenient. It is the intent that does all the killing.

Get back to humanity when you figure out how to ban or limit murderous intent. I like your Noble plan though, sounds like it will be a great asset for whichever community you deploy it to.
