It's just a wake up call for the evil faction.....they done went and changed Scripture....slobs say Jesus is Michael...a god.....small god.I could go on for a while.....thusly and therefore filling volumes.......no birthdays allowed ...no sex....no more son or daughter if they don't play....only 144 will make it......etc...

Made their own Bible to make it stick or it would be obvious.....

Just like the Catholics....wake up call

I also left the JW around 35 yrs ago . When my mommas whippings didn't hurt anymore . I was never shunned by anyone . Never saw anyone have their property seized by the church .
Any of these anecdotal accusations can be hurled at any religious organization. So why should the JW's all be thrown in jail but not the rest of christendom?

Any organisation that doesn't make the records of child abuse amongst their ranks available to civil authorities is a crime ring. JW.org have the records and won't release them
They knowingly protect criminals as well as ignore the damage these criminals have done to children and the damage these children will carry forever

If the rest of Christendom covered up their sins then they should be called wretched unrepentant cult criminals as well
Even the disgusting Catholic Church admitted their evil

JW.org won't, unrepentant cultists

Makes you wonder if they are still covering it up,,what's still happening
Call themselves of God, yeah right

But hey, guess I am lying, so I am told

Go search, JW.org covers paedophile victims abuse if you want the truth

My only sin was leaving the church.

Forgive my incredulity , but I expect there is a lot more to the story than that. This extreme caricature that people want to paint the JW's with is , just that . The same ploy that is employed against any entity that people wish to demonize . Be it religious , political , race , sports team etc... Give some anecdote to illicit an emotional response and paint the entire group as evil .

But there is . You see , the church can't force your family not to talk to you . It is a choice they make . An individual choice by free people.

This is a great website that has been around for a long time, They collect abuse stories. They have been helpful putting victims together for these class action lawsuits against the church.

You are arguing a mute point
Why not go read the JW.org policy on shunning, it's not hidden
It's JW.org policy not misskats policy

Do your own research, why pester some one
Why not ask the OP about shunning if you can't be bothered to research yourself, why ask a non JW about JW policy

They are brainwashed to believe the lie, so they do not have a choice. My great great grandfather was a JW, so the brainwashing was passed on for several generations. Your family experience was obviously different than mine. But, if you really look at other peoples stories you will see that mine is a more common experience for people who were baptized and left the church.

Excuse me, but I would thank you to stop conflating Jehovah's Witnesses and Christians together. There is nothing Christian about denying the trinity, nor about the deliverance of false prophecy, which is also a trait of the entirely illegitimate, heretical organisation known as the Watchtower. There are the trappings of genuine faith within the flock, but the actual organisation and the specifics of the belief system itself, are entirely the stuff of charlatanism, and have no place among actual Christian belief.

The reason I say that is that there are passages in the Bible which specifically warn the followers of Christ, to be wary of those who attempt to put a date to the second coming of Christ, specifically warn the followers of Christ to be cautious of those who deny the Trinity. Jehovah's Witnesses have done both these things, and many, many more, in pursuit of the establishment of their cult, things which entirely prevent them being legitimately called, or attempting to suggest that they are a Christian movement.

There is always a choice for you and them. And yes your experience is very common in a much broader context than you imagine . This external group is not the true source of your unhappiness/victimhood .
Agape .

So you claimed to have left 35 years ago and yet here you are defending them - why do I think you're not truthful?

You deny they reached settlement with abuse survivors in a court of law?

Im not unhappy or a victim, I choose to leave, I knew the consequences before I left. I did it to protect my children from brainwashing and abuse.

not sure , but i think there are 2 separate parts to the mormon church which recently wants and demands itself to be called the church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints. The book of the Moroni written by Smith kind of puzzled me from the beginning . I will tell you why now. Since when is gold found east of the Mississippi River. And if you ever have had possession of the Book of Mormon you'll realize that Smith would have dug over more then 100000 feet of soil to have describe them gold tablets and that would be maybe of gold leaf of 80% pure.

Anyway, its a split of religious thoughts of times in across the ocean and that of times of Smith going into a spiritual world that many want to enter.

In my experience with people who still defend the JWs after leaving them, is that it takes a huge amount of relearning of real truth to undue the brainwashing. If they never really look at the JW beliefs against a true translation of the bible they will never know the truth about what the JWs teach.

Im no longer a bible thumper so we dont need to argue the bible stuff. If I were to follow Jesus, then I would become a jew, not a christian. He was never a christian. So the new testament most written by the apostate Paul, is not high on my list of important ancient texts.

So, he is either just wanting to argue or he still believes their crap.

Sadly, Russia doesn't have a first amendment that says government has no business interfering with the free exercise of religion.

The Jehovahs Witnesses should have known the risk they were taking by proselytising there. And I have to admire their conviction. They are martyrs to their cause who are now enjoying their 15 minutes of fame.

Ah , I see . You don't just have a problem with JW's. But also with anyone who believes the new testament is the word of God . And as to the "relearning of real truth " pray tell do teach .

Do your posts here get you the same points as if you were knocking on doors?

Absolutely, he’s ‘counting his time’. All witnesses are required to ‘preach he good news’, and report to the congregation on how much time they spent doing it. You are very frowned upon if you report anything less than 10 hours a month.

This is his way of getting out of going door to door today. Much easier to sit behind a computer screen and debate with people. Because we all know going door to door is futile and worthless.

I dont have any problem letting anyone believe what they want to believe. I have no need to teach you my truth. Where ever you are on your path is fine with me. I simply stated my position on the writings of Paul, so I wouldnt need to clarify anything.

However, I would suggest examining the books that were left out of the cannon of scripture as put together by the catholic church. And I would read the oldest of the new testament manuscripts. The dead sea scrolls. Gnostic Gospels you can find a huge library at sacred texts. com

The JW bible was not translated by scholars. It is full of errors.
