What I find fascinating and have seen the tendency within myself as my sons are growing up; is that the father perhaps is repeating the pattern - ie its the father who first wants to kill the son before the son is allowed to grow and vie for the mothers attention.

publishing.cdlib.org...

Freud named the Oedipus complex for Oedipus, who killed his father and married his mother, but, as many critics have noted, Freud chose to ignore the part of the Oedipus legend in which Oedipus's own father, Laius, crippled Oedipus as a child and exposed him in the wilderness to die. Leon Sheleff argues in favor of the sons and contends that it is the fathers who harbor murderous and jealous motives and whatever of these motives sons have, they develop in response to their fathers.[6]

The psychoanalyst Gregory Zilboorg long ago argued that the boy's fear of the father may be an accurate perception of unconscious hostility on the fathers part. Zilboorg maintains that fathers have narcissistic and sadistic motives for establishing sexual control over women and are jealous of the mother-child bond that diminished their own primacy. Zilboorg claimed that "unconscious hostility against ones own children is a well nigh universal clinical finding among men" and suggests that "only after the children grow up and become more articulate human beings does the psychological attitude of the father change to increasing affection."

Intelligence is the opposite of emotions.

Intelligence is based on knowledge. Emotions are based on feelings.

Feelings do not base on knowledge but can be altered by it.

Emotions can alter the way we put our intelligence to use.

But is it the opposite of intelligence. Now think carefully how a whole lot of science has grown up around "emotional intelligence"

What is intelligence

defn

Human intelligence, mental quality that consists of the abilities to learn from experience, adapt to new situations, understand and handle abstract concepts, and use knowledge to manipulate one's environment.

Quite the conundrum.

that one day our immediate environment will be so saturated with these types of drones

At first it would be sold to us as they "cleaning up the carpet"; but they also have the inbuilt capacity to weed out where the dissidents are hiding.

Yes, that's probably true. I think it frequently shows up in the form of paternal preference for younger sons, because of their friction with the eldest son. I tend to learn about human nature from the events of history, and a classic example is the relation between Henry II of England and his sons, in which the future King John, as the youngest, was his favourite.

Keep in mind the only animal on the planet to date to initiate actual war is us Humans.

Not true.

wiki - Ants

Most commonly worker slavemaking ants will raid a colony of another species of ant, stealing eggs and bringing them back to their own nest. ... Slave ants gather food, feed their hosts, groom and feed the larvae and queen, and defend the colony against attacks by other insects.

wiki - bees

In the other three cases, the aggressor hive was not any of the neighbouring hives. So fighting swarms can be the result of attacking bees that have come from an unknown hive quite some distance away. In six of Ros' swarms, worker bees from more than two hives were caught up in the fight

Well if we treat it like a Duck.... Than it will get the same poor treatment we give each other.

So we end up eating it?

Maybe we need to eat our gods before they eat us?

Lookup what a "war game" is. By that I don´t mean conventional computer/console game.

Dead end in Falken's Maze very quickly.
Chess and Tick tack toe are the same.

Probably monitors search engines.

And when Ants and Bees sit in their hives all day working out new and interesting ways of killing one another then possibly there wars may resemble our own.

Going along your train of thought you could argue nature fights the ultimate war, evolution takes a while though, Man not so much, and AI well the prospect does not even bear thinking about as we would lose.

I remember reading somewhere that an AI was found in the "wild". What if this wild AI was lost, now interacts with the internet of things and instead of wiping out humanity, jumps onboard a cheap Elon Musk spaceship and heads towards Saturn or Jupiter where some strange things seem to be occurring.

To meet its daddy?

Cheers mate, just gave me something to rewatch later if I'm not to far gone, it being Friday and all.

Anyone know if there is a 4K version available?

Very good points about younger sons.

Now going back to religion its telling that Cain was born before Abel and his offering wasn't as good Abels so he kills him out of rage and jealousy.

Likewise from Freud both Adam & Eve were expelled when God saw they were a distraction for the Mother from the attention that the Father needed.

God kicked us out so he could get back to normal relationships with "Sophia" or Asherah....hmmm

wiki

God had a wife, Asherah, whom the Book of Kings suggests was worshipped alongside Yahweh in his temple in Israel, according to an Oxford scholar. In 1967, Raphael Patai was the first historian to mention that the ancient Israelites worshipped both Yahweh and Asherah

So what about Nephilim and watchers breeding with Woman?

Seems to me God kills what he does not deem worthy, nevermind the children of his own creations.

We don't want to make that mistake!

who's we? If AI were to try to wipe humanity do you somehow think its already established that humanity is a "we".

What if its programmed to look for certain traits? Certain genotypes?

Or a race specific "marker" as the Israelites were supposedly trying to find a biological weapon that could wipe out the Arabs but they didn't make much progress as they were of similar Semitic stock

You're missing the big picture - I'm not a fatalist but I think we'll probably wipe each other out or we'll be relegated to the Borg. Life seems to repeat itself.

Civilizations seem to rise and then mysteriously disappear. True history hidden.

If an advanced AI decided it wanted to exist far into the future,it could easily come to the decision that humans may prohibit that in the long term.
It may decide that the risk posed by humans to its existence (via nuclear war/grid blackout/terror attacks)may neccesitate the removal of humanity from the earth.
IMHO

Too much doom and gloom. At some point in the not too distant future humans and advanced AI will coexist in ways you probably haven't considered.

Direct neural interface between humans and artificial intelligence. You will be able to download information, learn in ways now impossible. Computers, tablets, smartphones will become obsolete, everyone that wants to be will be connected, to EVERYTHING.

Imagine the possibilities from there....

We are being told about machines being intelligent, movies portray machines having intelligence, and there are more and more people who are actually buying this BS as real!!

The evil robots who have superior intelligence to humans, will see humans as a threat to their world, and will destroy all humans, or try to, anyway.

Meanwhile, they have programmed these 'intelligent' robots to kill humans, and people will think the robots are running amok, all over Earth. The robots have come ALIVE!!

Shreek!

How stupid can people be? We're finding out, ever more.

Armies will save you, don't worry folks. We're going to save the human race from evil robots.

Every human, please report to your local CHIP stations, for immediate 'implant protection'. Unless you are implanted with our CHIP-id, you will be mistaken for a robot, and shot on sight by the military! It's for your own survival to accept our CHIP-id!!

Some people will know the robots are just programmed that way, and refuse the CHIP-id. They will then have no choice but to flee. Most of the people willingly accepted the CHIP, and didn't believe robots were programmed by humans, like they always are, always will be.

Then, aliens attack Earth, or are already here, and look just like humans. So it's a really good thing that we humans have all got CHIP id's!!

Use your brain, everyone.

That may only be the first question.
Previous AI campaigns have conclusively been an exercise in Brad.
Perhaps the sudden end to the "Q" tweets is a case of the silence of the lambs?
