Do the other apes think humans have mange?
Maybe that's why they tend to avoid us?

Two of these bad boy Cumberland sausages cut lengthways and spread with Tesco value marmalade lol, salted butter on the toasted value bread...that was amazing!!!

@freeborn You've gotta try it!

@oldcarpy I'm sold! Didn't think it would work but it does haha.

My mum used to as well, and so did I until frozen ones came on the market, I haven't made any batter in a long while now.

Would you like some date, apple and raisin sauce with your bacon sarnie? Of course not, but hold on:

Well bugger me, knew there was some weird stuff in there but I would never guessed that.

Just found myself randomly wondering, does anyone put raisins in Yorkshire puddings? My mum used to.

I live right on the border with Yorkshire.
Doing Yorkshire Pudding correctly is a must and making the perfect Yorkshire Pudding is a life's work for some people.
Never have I heard of one being desecrated in such a fashion.

I'm not denying that they are tasty....but they can't be called Yorkshire Pudding, you've got to think of some other name.

Yorkshire could possibly declare war if it was made aware of such an outrage.

Pmsl!

'Spotted Yorkshire style pudding' should get around legal name rights. We do have a lawyer in the cafe remember.

Humorous silly reference to Yorkshire removed and replaced with a tune. Ever seen someone play 2 saxes at the same time? Me either...

Sorry, it was the inner Yorkshireman in me (I was born in Sheffield) having a flashback. My Nan made the best Yorkshire pudding. She made it in the same roasting tray you use to roast the chicken in. Huge. Sunday dinner was always 3 courses at Nan's house. I miss those days but doubt I could cook a pudding as well as her.

Don't be sorry, cool story, always know your roots.
I could murder a Sunday roast right now.

Busy in the cafe today, I've been out had to earn some money, only short day though wouldn't want to kill myself through exhaustion lol
@BoneSay I hope your pasty attempt works, I wish I could send you the secret ingredient, fresh tears from a Pixie, but it should turn out okay without it.

@oldcarpy That stew looks fantastic, think it should be on the cafe menu! It could be a special with a side of that hipster salad BoneSay posted haha

@freeborn Stargazy pie looks minging, never tried it and never will unless I am actually starving! I'd eat jellied eels before that, at least they aren't staring you out.
Good tune choices as well, especially Saint Etienne.
...nice one you cook for that old couple

Something chilled for my afternoon...

That was interesting read, about the Pixies. I read the piggies story several years ago and now i feel a bit cheated, is there anything real on this world anymore? JAJAJA (laughs in Spanish while crying)

I can't cook at all beyond simple stuff like eggs and steak lol, so there's a lady who prepares food for me for the week, then i store it on the freezer and take out as needed. I will get her all the stuff she needs for the pasty so she can cook them for me, otherwise i would probably die of food poisoning if i try it myself lmao

Deceptacon was so cool, another new band for me and added to my list. Been finding about so many great bands on this thread that it kind of has become my place to go for music now

Hate to impose guys, i just was not feeling well, i just want to say that these day i lost my Babushka, several years ago, and she was so much what i am today, or i am she actually lmao, i just want to say this, if you don't mind

This picture reminds me so much of her, she thought me how to make my hear like this

And for people like Tone that knows me, i keep this alive and have my braids as much as i can, because of her, she was just like that a soldier, a woman who went way beyond and made sure i would survive on my own in life, no matter what, and i love her so much for that. I just wanted to share guys, i'm sorry for messing up the conversation, i have to go away now, thanks for listening

Forgot, she was like this other girl i admire so much, my babushka teached me how to shoot and how to be a soldier, she made me a tomboy lmao, but i wanted so much to be like her i don't mind, i loved being out there with her, i can't describe

I feel sad, i think i need a timeout, sorry to become crazy here, no more, will go rest, love you all

Oh Say, don't be sorry sharing your story here, this may be the banter cafe but it's a friendly place to talk about anything.
I saw your thread and sorry for the late reply but I actually did a full day working today and was busy, I know, shocking isn't it.
I love your story about your grandmother, she sounds lovely, and taught you to shoot as well, that's the kind of Babushka I would want in my life.
Grief is different for all of us and depends on our emotional connections we had with our lost loved ones. Her love must have been as deep towards you as well or you wouldn't miss her as much as you do.
Raise that glass or two in her memory with friends, I just raised my first after work cider to her in respect.
< 3
I think I've posted this before but my friend and working partner fell off a cliff to his death a couple of years ago, and this was 'our' song which we'd sing to each other whenever it came on the radio. The song is actually about the breakup of the singer with the drummer, but the words seem poignant to me because, well, they just do.
I totally understand loss and I still struggle some days, that's just being human...I'd be worried if one day I stopped caring about emotions...that's being a robot.

...and on an uplifting tone, here's a favourite of mine, it's older than me but takes me into the zone of free festivals in the '90's

Double post, my laptop obviously agreed and wanted to say it twice.
...I'll listen to the tracks you posted and raise another glass

That track was amazing! Wish I could understand it, the vid was powerful, is it from a movie I can get online with English subtitles?
I forget I'm reading text after 5 minutes watching non English movies.
I get your post about your Babushka and the girl in the picture now, she sounds like a strong woman and would have lived through different times than I ever have.

Cafe announcement, tonight's special on the menu is Solyanka (соля́нка) a thick, spicy and sour Russian soup in memory of BoneSay's grandmother...

This is a hearty, thick soup with salty cured meats, sausages, olives, capers, pickles, cabbage, sometimes carrots, and dill and sour cream for garnish. Accompanied, of course, by whole-grain bread.

@oldcarpy This ain't 'hipster' food crap, this is soup for warriors!
I've seen loads of recipes and I'm gonna get down the Eastern EU people stores tomorrow to source some meats for it...so glad I gave up being vegetarian lol.

Name of the movie is good enough for me, I'll search it, looks fantastic if the soundtrack is similar to the vid you posted.
Gwen...Ahhh!!! I saw her at the Glastonbury music festival when she was still with No Doubt, amazing, I melted, something about her and her performances...I'd marry her and love her forever haha!
