lol this reminds me one time in middle school, when the teacher corrected me in front of the class because of saying "amerikanski" and she said "American"!

then she asked me to repeat it in front of everyone, so of course i went "Ameri...kanski" lmao then she sent me out

Ha... Teachers ain't crap with rulers in NYC. Ohhh no!
No sir-reee. Nope. In my day:
They went above and beyond the call of duty.
They actually came to the household with their compliant(s).
And Lo! The ass whipping begins. 15 minutes of blood curling screams and severe cruel unusual punishment. BEAT DOWN(s)! And then the grounding.

I had the edge of steel rulers across the knuckles.
Had to kneel on blackboard rubbers with my face pressed to the wall. If my face came away it was pushed into the wall.
Hair bicycle rides.
Obviously the cane, one teacher even used a golf club with the head chopped off.

I got kicked in the head by a P.E. teacher and a full set of keys thrown at my head by another.
The second P.E. teacher also punched me in the kidneys during a game of five-a-side football.

Locked in cupboards and made to sit under tables.

It was character forming.

Something different for the jukebox tonight.

BRMC

And a Kasabian - Stone Roses mix.
This was massive on the Scooter scene a couple of years or so ago.

honestly i would smack his theet out, nobody touches me, no disrespect but I can't let anyone do that to me.

i was bullied a lot on middle school because of being too skinny, until i guy called me miss future implants and i sweeped the floor with his face, turns out there's and advantage to being tall and having long arms and legs lol

I respect teachers when they earned it, I don't believe in authority just because you got paid to have it, authority you can have if you earn it and show you own it. I don't know but that's how i feel

my grand father never dared to hit me, but his presence alone was something that made me scared and i would obey blindly just because looking into his eyes, my uncles lack that and yell and show authority through violence, and i don't respect them at all, they have no strong soul, just insults and fists

anyways, sorry for the rant

It was a different world back then Say, parents accepted and allowed teachers to use physical violence to punish us as kids.
It was almost a badge of honour getting the cane and not showing that it hurt you. I 'eyeballed' every teacher who caned me, a cold steely stare straight in the eyes that I didn't give a # and I still thought he was a prick no matter how many times he hit me.
Yes of course, my tactic meant I had more lashes than if I complied in a subservient way, but I won the mental battle lol...
EDIT
I never accepted the cane on my ass, only my hand, no way would I ever bend over for someone, it's been my life rule!

EDIT
I punched my English teacher out when I was 15 though, he pushed it too far and caned me in the face when he realised I was taking it on the hand and still laughing at him...another story for another day lol

I have heard before about it, like how kids were treated before, i don't get it but i kind of understand how it came to be.

It is easier to control and obey than to achieve the same by making the other people know how to do things and why, "Because i say so" should never be an option

Lol i would do the same, don't show weakness at all. And also never look down and let the other person know that they are not winning over, even if they can hit and can't hit back. I also keep looking into their eyes and don't let go until they look away. It drives them crazy ha ha

I love that song, so special and unique, and it is very much how i feel when they take the school over, teachers "they were just another brick in the wall"

Always wanted to try Stargazy Pie but those fishes heads sort of freak me out a bit.....I know, what a wanker!

Anyway, something different for the jukebox this morning.

Stargazy pie - agree is weird with fish looking up at you.

Here's one for you - Bait Box Stew, very Cornish.

Fry in a little oil until soft:

Chopped shallots
Chopped carrots
Chopped celery
Chopped whole fennel bulb
Season

In a large heavy based pan or stock pot use fish stock cubes or whatever to make loads of fish stock, add the above ingredients season add tin of chopped tomatoes and bring to boil then simmer. Add 1 quartered orange unpeeled. Add best part of bottle of red wine after drinking a glass yourself. Season and add saffron or turmeric. Simmer for ages until reduced by half.

Use any old cheap firm white fish mix (like hake, cod, dogfish, conger eel or whatever is going (monkfish if feeling flush) gurnard and or red mullet for authentic Cornishness (filleted and boned - Morrisons or fishmonger or whatever can do that for you if you like as mullets and gurnards are bony) skin removed chopped into biggish chunks and mussels in shells.

Add fish and mussels and simmer until cooked - not too long, probably 5 mins or so.

I don't do grams and stuff so just play with quantities but you get the general idea.

Serve in warm bowls with toasts:

Crusty bread sliced, rubbed with garlic clove if liked, pour over a little olive oil, top with sliced tomatos and cheese and put in oven on tray or roasting tin until cheese melts and they turn golden and then scatter over chopped flat leaf parsley.

Thanks mate, that is now on my to do list for next week.
Reading the recipe made me hungry, drooling at the mouth - no, that's not a permanent feature of mine.

Can't wait to give it a go.

There's an elderly couple up the street who I do a bit of cooking for. I'll do them a bowl each as well, I know they'll love it.
