Thank God we don't live in Victorian times getting all giddy due to an ankle.

OMG WOAH! I had to magnify to 180% to see that sexy ankle! She is lookin FINE! I'd finagle that one! Yes

This needs reported because porn! Where's that feminist when we need her?

What part don't you get about...90%+ OF THE VIEWERSHIP OF BEAUTY PAGEANTS ARE WOMEN???????

You are arguing against YOURSELF!

I am challenging your research and television audience measurement methodology. You got nothing.

I don't watch beauty pageants at all, bikini on or off.

I used to watch beauty pageants because sexy women are fun to look at. Same reason I always watched Baywatch with the sound muted.

Now?

If they're going to turn it into a roundtable discussion on PBS then I'll change the channel.

I'm surprised this is still a thing. Who even watches this crap anymore? Society has evolved past this inane competition.

Bull pooky.

Hot babes are still hot babes. We aren't "evolved". We aren't "enlightened".

Yeah but we came up with the internet.

Social evolution.

There you go T&A gallore, no need to watch or comment on what beauty pageants are doing, now is there?

Comment brought to you by the same thinking that wants to ban cheerleaders.

What, there's a feminist here on ATS? What is a feminist?

Neilsen is just one of thousands of demographic sampling and modeling tools, just ONE.

There are tons of others. Have you ever heard of SEO's? Do you even know what one is?

Also, (and I would think it intuitive, but maybe not for you) you don't have to watch TV to figure out who watches TV. You don't have to be inside someone's living room. (That's kind of a "Duh" moment for me, but whatever). You also use other types of media to figure out who watches which "TV" programs. There's this thing called the "Internet", and there's a process known as media cross-referencing (made all the easier by SEO's). I could go on all day about this, but I have to go (perhaps thankfully).

Have a great day arguing with yourself! I hope you win!

There's always the Naked News. That's probably still a thing.

You mean progressive thinking and commenting to show you where to go to see cheerleaders, bikini clad women, victoria's secret underwear on models and porn? You should be thanking me/us.

Well, without any real facts and evidence from you, I have won that argument.

Oops! I should have known. My mistake.

You're like a non-spectator who isn't in the stands at Wimbledon, yet still complaining that it's unfair that the players are "forced" to use a tennis racket. OMG! They have no choice!

No, you're the one with nothing!

Go research ....

"market research",
"television viewing demographic research",
"search engine optimization/organization",
"ratings services"
"television ratings"
"how television ratings are derived"

Don't waste my time! Do some research before you spout off on something you know less than nothing about!

ETA - Have a great...Interwebz. Later (much).

Without the tennis racket then the game cannot be played and the tennis racket in no way shape or form objectifies them in any way. Yes, your mistake.

Decades of women transitioning from full coverage swim suit to bikini while telling everyone it's for their rights as women...

Now decades later they claim strutting almost naked in public in a bikini is anti women...

Poor people... Always doing what is trendy. The Western world forgot to think for themselves.

Had people not stopped thinking for themselves, the swim suit would not be part of the contest. Furthermore the contest would not exist.

Who hates bikinis? People that don't look good in them.

Show me one piece of evidence specifically related to the viewers of the last beauty pageant and it's methodology. Is that too much to ask of you?

Even I am trying to figure out IntheLight could be declared a winner of a seriously flawed argument that makes it more and more hypocritical by each comment made by said poster.

I can't grasp how this is even logically sound.

Yeah, I didn't figure similes would be your strong point.

A.I. bots still have issues understanding figurative speech like similes and metaphors.

I can't grasp how one can stand behind audience measurement guesswork without actual facts when the methodology is so flawed.
