That sounds wonderful, don't worry about cooking, an olive and a cracker will due. A wee drink would be soothing, perhaps I should go with herbal tea on top of Gordis dram.

hello all! i've felt really calm this week... i think because i saw the avengers movie on sunday and it was so emotionally draining that it bled off all my stress and anxiety. does anyone else have that, after watching an emotional movie or something similar?

Hi! Calm is good.

I don't watch movies, i have seen maybe two this year. They are too long and my attention gets focused elsewhere "maybe i will pause this for a while" i think i have a hundred movies on an eternal pause right now.

But music does that to me sometimes!

Editing: Avatar was recommended here some time ago, and i managed to watch that without losing attention. I thought it was "just" a kids movie, mainly because i bought it from kids who had toys and movies and games for sale on a street nearby a couple of summers ago. I was not even interested in the movie, just wanted to show support to the kids who stood in hot weather for hours. Glad i mentioned it here and watched it after multiple recommendations.

oh i hear you, i don't always have the attention span for a movie... i tend to prefer reading things, i get bored during a lot of movies. definitely had similar experiences with music, but not lasting multiple days. i've never been that into music, my brain just doesn't seem to grab onto it the same way.

Reading is great! Not too long ago i finally paid my debts to the library and i can grab some books again! It is so real, just me and the book, feeling the weight of the book, and knowing this has been done hundreds of years through mankind's history!

Avatar was an awesome movie! I love movies and music!

Being mindful and in the moment helps. I can observe my conciousness and remind myself of serenity, but I don't always feel it. I try to find a balance in my life and have to work on the emotional aspects. It's learning how to accept things that are out of my control. No man is Island as they say, we all need each other. There are things that help like the good company of family and friends, nature etc. I have no idea where I'm going with this. It's bedtime and yet I just woke from a late nap. lol
Let us know what else you get out of the book.

Did you know that as a "member in good standing" who has been with us a fair while, you can ask for permission to link to your site in your ATS signature? Several members here have permission to link their site and/or promote their work in other ways. (I obtained permission to promote my book via ATS.)

These requests are normally handled by Springer, one of the ATS owners. He's very fair and is glad to support members who are supporting ATS via their posting. As your site is perfectly ok (IMO), he'd probably give you approval.

I thought I'd stop in and say hello.
And also give another chapter in my side of the great Acassia adventure.
My last chapter was here:
Chapter 3 page 148 of Shed 18

Now for today's tale.

Chapter 4

Troll the troll walked through the forest leading to the Dark Lands.
He had been walking for hours with a pixie on his shoulder that he had rescued from the Armagors.
The pixie had been talking non-stop ever since he removed the rope that bound her and the gag in her mouth.

“So Toots.”said the pixie. “As I was saying. My sisters and I ran this tavern down by the docks.
Not the fancy shmancy patrons those high class pixies get to serve up at the Shed.
But once you let them know you don’t take their malarky, they order their drinks and don’t try no funny business. You know what I mean?”

Troll didn’t know what she meant.
Troll stopped and sat on a large tree stump.
“Troll sit and rest for minute.” said Troll.
The pixie hopped off Troll’s shoulder and stood in front of him.

“So as I was saying.” said the pixie.
“A couple of nights ago, we’re serving drinks, a good crowd, when suddenly the door bursts open and those armagor things come into our tavern from all sides.
They start breaking up the place, hurting the customers.”
The pixie wipes away a tear.
“Most of them folks didn’t make it. Anyway the armagors see me and my sisters. A couple of them grab us from behind before we can show them who’s boss, and they leave.
It was like they only came there for us ya know?”
Troll still didn’t know.

“Anyway they decide to split up into two groups.They take my sisters in one group and me in the other.
I hear them talking. They taking us way up north. Way past the Ash Mountain. They’ve got some leader up there and I don’t know who or what it is but this leader of theirs scares them to death.”

The pixie looked intently at Troll.
“Say, you’re the hairiest cave troll I have ever seen.”
Trolls eyes flashed with anger.
“Troll no stupid cave troll!” roared Troll.
“Troll forest bridge troll! Bridge trolls not big dumb bald trolls! We smart trolls!”
“Oh I’m sorry.” said the pixie with a slight smile. “And what is your name you big, strong, smart troll you?”
Trolls name is Troll!" said Troll.

The pixie tried not to laugh.
Oh I see said the pixie. Obviously a lot of thought went into naming such a smart troll.”
Troll looked confused.
“My name is Trixie.” said the pixie.
“I wonder if you’d be interested in helping me rescue my sisters?”

Troll looked at the pixie.
She was much stockier than the usual pixie.
Her voice was deeper and she seemed..cruder.
Troll liked her.
“Troll help.” said Troll to the delight of the pixie.
“We go to ugly princess castle. Troll know ugly elf princess. She have stupid wizard boyfriend. They help Troll and funny pixie get sisters.”
