Let me show you, this is Northwestern's* academic schedule shows they take their break to coincide with Easter.


*Northwestern is in Chicago which according to you takes theirs in February.

Interesting thread - not because of the OP, more amused at the few people who seemingly came just to be argumentative and confrontational for some odd reason.

As for the actual OP - I ain't had a proper holiday in years and it's really though choice. I hate travelling, it's too much hassle, I'll maybe visit family on occasion, travel to London or whatever. No beaches for me, I honestly don't get it...each to their own but for me it's pointless, rather boring and not very productive...complete waste of my time.

Normally if I take time off work I'll spend it as a hermit, not leave the house - normally spend the time looking for online freelance work or working on some project or other.

My idea of a good time well spend it writing some code, playing a guitar, reading or writing, learn somethng new.

I do agree with the phones nonsense, though. People tend to comment or make snide remarks when they see my phone namely because I rarely produce the thing and also because I go for the cheapest phone I can get. I'm not mean or miserable I just don't get the deal with them. Most people want the latest phone because they've somehow become some kind of status symbol or something. For me it's nothing more than a simple device for communicating with people.

I still look at mobile phones as I did 10 or 15 years ago - a handy thing to have if you need to call or message someone. I don't live my life on it, they're boring things.

It has changed things and does affect everyone. Things are different, people used to interact more, it's rare now that a conversation is struck between two strangers. I see people walk in front of cars and stuff absolutely engrossed in their life support device and it does irritate me from time to time.

I can't control it so best just live and let live...but yeah, I call bs on the notion that it doesn't affect me, it does. Just like drinking and driving is a concern for most of us, or drugged up driving...we now have people trying to text and play pkemon at the wheel...just another random variable that's thrown into the mix.

It's not healthy...there are loads of ways it can affect our day to day lives....some see it as progress, maybe it is and we're just old and set in our ways. I dunno...I mean, I'm only 37 so there's that.

I still like Mexican hippie surf towns like Sayulita or Zicatela. Or fishing Laguna Madre, Texas. It's real in Texas....

Examples of what a school that take spring break in February? Are you serious? Do you want me to show you again that you were wrong that spring break isn’t only from March through April? You want me to show you that you tried to use That as an example to make somebody look stupid but it backfired. It backfired because people could have very well been on spring break in February.

Are those the examples you’re asking me for? More that make you look like a fool?

The worst are the selfie-stick tourists, mostly from the Far East, who wander around with their toys practically surgically attached to their hands. I have experienced this a lot and I swear this type of tourist only ever glances at the scenery or whatever just once - the rest of time they just see it through their camera phone. Weird. And they're selfish as they go about with their bloody selfie sticks held in the air, they have no regard for anyone else.

LOL are you kidding me? I think you need to go back and read again. I never said anything about any specific state and when they have their Spring Break. I was merely pointing out the fact to you that Spring Break is not just March thru April. I was replying to your comment here. And then you proceeded to tell me how I don't know what I'm talking about and I'm "out of the loop"
